Oct 21, 2009 - Not really. A big part of science is logic, and since we have these things that we feel, it makes more sense to try to understand emotions, not ignore them. Ignoring them is something they can't do. There's just no way. Denying them would be denying the existence of them. We very clearly feel something, even if we can't explain it. Ignoring them is nothing more than irresponsible.

powpanda Says:

Oct 21, 2009 - Reality tv with dumb yuppies is boring. Reality tv with interesting, intelligent people could very well be something, although of course those people would never agree to have a camera shoved in their face all day.

Nov 1, 2009 - Love Feynman; such incredible insight into - well everything. Wonder what he'd make of string or m theory? Always think it's cool how much of an influence his father was on him; encouraging Feynman to think for himself.

travishenrichs Says:

Nov 2, 2009 - Feynman spoke against string theory shortly before he died.

shredjoe1 Says:

Nov 2, 2009 - Really? cheers dude wasn't aware of that - what did he propose instead?

travishenrichs Says:

Nov 2, 2009 - He said "My feeling has been -- and I could be wrong -- that there's more than one way to skin a cat. I don't think that there's only one way to get rid of the infinities. The fact that a theory gets rid of infinities is to me not a sufficient reason to believe its uniqueness." He also allegedly said (I haven't checked any sources on this one yet) "String theorists don't make predictions, they makes excuses" Not sure of the validity of the second quote but the first is pretty well known.
