Jun 11, 2009 - Mayweather demanded a catchweight of 133lb at a time when Shane could barely make 135lb and was on the verge of moving up with a prospective Oscar fight on the horizon. To say Shane ducked Mayweather is very misleading.

younglion333 Says:

Jun 11, 2009 - lol thats a lie. mayweather called out shane when shane was coming back down to 147 after his unsuccessful time at 154. mayweather said he would meet shane at 147. lol i know your lying because why would mayweather ask for a catch weight at 133 when mayweather called shane out when mayweather was at 135 lol 133 is not a catch weight between 135 and 147 lmao

huthut91 Says:

Jun 12, 2009 - I'm quite obviously talking about a previous instance, jackass, hence the reference to Shane moving UP for a prospective Oscar fight. I'm talking of late 99 early 00. Consider engaging your brain before you call people 'liars' in the future, son.

huthut91 Says:

Jun 12, 2009 - No idea why this post is negged 6 times since it's basically the truth. And the reason he beat Oscar the first time (he didn't the second time, lets face it) is that Oscar , keen to redeem his public image after the Tito fiasco adopted an aggressive, come forward style. Mosley is masterful at dealing with guys who come to him, but he struggles badly with counter punchers.

BGChamp2019 Says:

Jun 14, 2009 - To say that mosley struggles badly with counter punchers doesnt make since because what good or great counter puncher has he fought.Margarito, mayorga, cotto, callazo, and vargas are not good counter punchers and he beat 4 of 5 (really 5 of 5). He hasnt faced any really good counter punchers in his career.Counter punchers arent his weakness.Bigger taller fighters are.Shane is a really good counter puncher himself. Not like PBF but #2 behind him. The statement that you just made is RIDICOULOUS.

younglion333 Says:

Jun 14, 2009 - what dont u understand about floyd never asked for a catch weight of 133. floyd first called out shane when he was at 135 you dumbass. everything you said was just bullshit.

huthut91 Says:

Jun 15, 2009 - To be fair mate, you're absolutely all over the place here. Let's go over your argument: Shane doesn't struggle with counter punchers because A) he impressively beat a bunch of guys who by your own admission AREN'T counter punchers B) he's an excellent counter puncher himself C) he hasn't faced any good counter punchers? (Wright, Forrest, DLH rematch? etc). Shane has struggled stylistically against almost every fighter who didn't come towards him - he's a terrific fighter thats just his style

huthut91 Says:

Jun 15, 2009 - Shane is up there with Ray Leonard? Well he certainly would have made an excellent sparring partner for Ray...if that means he's 'up there with him', then I would certainly agree.

GoldenProvidence Says:

Jun 29, 2009 - he's not ray leonard, but he no joke either. he's NO ones sparring partner. shane could hold his own against ANY welterweight in ANY era. take away all the personalities, out of the ring bullshit, bias, etc...just watching fighters fight, their heart, their will, everything IN THE RING...NO ONE can knock shane mosley.

vivavegas2704 Says:

Jul 5, 2009 - Sugar Shane Mosley one of the best boxers in the world!!

shogunwarlord Says:

Jul 8, 2009 - shanes a class act..

speddyg Says:

Jul 28, 2009 - I agree with GoldenProvidence. I believe Mosley would have given Ray a lot of trouble, maybe 2 fights out of 3 for Shane? i don´t know, plenty of room for argument, but Mosley is FAR more than a sparring partner for any fighter in his weight class.

seldin911 Says:

Jul 28, 2009 - i love the right hand @ 1:12

huthut91 Says:

Jul 28, 2009 - Guys who lose to Forrest, Wright Cotto just don't beat Ray Leonard, I'm afraid. I agree Shane's an excellent fighter but we're talking different levels here. If you wanna argue Shane might split trilogies with Don Curry or a welterweight Pernel Whitaker that's a conversation that we could have, but he doesn't come close to beating Leonard.

Aug 1, 2009 - It was a good shot was'nt it

SlickSputta Says:

Aug 6, 2009 - Im gonna go ahead and say that my money is all on shane for for his next fight against pacq

julius5626 Says:

Aug 26, 2009 - he reminds of apolo in rocky when apolo was all swold up fightin that russian. That dude works out like a motha!

BrandonGStreetFights Says:

Sep 1, 2009 - its Mosley...Fix the Last Name

SIZINGPENYRHEOL Says:

Sep 18, 2009 - Shane is a old school fighter in alot of ways. I was very impressed with the way he beat De La Hoya in their first fight. Remeber up until then no-one had beaten Oscar except for him throwing the fight when outboxing Trinidad. Shane is a fighter on the same level as Don Curry, etc. He is probaly below Sugar Ray Lenoard but then 99% of fighters are.

esem17 Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - Floyd dont want none of this!!!!!!

aalkaline Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - Machine gun left hand

samoanking123 Says:

Oct 6, 2009 - i feel the only thing shane lacks is good head movement he rolls with his whole top half of his body. but if you watch the cotto fight shane was getting hit wih shots he should have move from. when he got hit he made the face like he was talking to himself like come on shane but i do think him and floyd would be a good fight hopefully money wont try to just pop shot him cause if he does that then the fight will be boring

richysowerby Says:

Oct 7, 2009 - ha ha look at mosley trying to copy floyd puching the pads away with his shoulder look at floyd training for gatti and you will see what i mean mosley does the clone move at 0.31 my good god

Vikiinduku Says:

Oct 17, 2009 - I believe Sugar Shane Mosley has more than enough skill and punching authority to shut down Mayweather.

blahness666 Says:

Oct 22, 2009 - lol everyone does that hahaha i guess your gonna say the jab is floyd mayweathers move too...you obviously dont know boxing all you know is floyd....
