MajorSecord Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - Buckley may have been a pompous ass, but his level of discourse far exceeds the buffoons who represent the "right" today. America is sinking rapidly...............
Ravenmist66 Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - Let's take great landscape view of how collectivist societies such as Russia turn out for the working class! Facing consequences of failure and distraught due to it's abandonment of a free market society and towards a slum hole called poverty. A forced will on others in the name of another brother is the most immoral act
ticklemetesticles Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - I agree thats why I wouldnt use Russia as any kind of example other than lets not do this. I would use Norway Sweden and, countries that use the nations wealth. Like the mineral value on public lands. To use that cash instead of giving it to private interest using it fund the programs we so badly need. You still have not given an example there have been more than one Laisse Faire capitalist society. But all the results Ive found are far worse than what happened in Russia. So stop citing Russia
Ravenmist66 Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - So you think the federal reserve was created because of capitalism?
louiethegreater Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - Buckley, always looked like he was glued together to me. Probably a good Idea not to punch anyone. I don't know why he always looked so frail, did he have some kind of illness?
propheticlivity Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Buckley was a member of the Skull Bones society at Yale. 'Nuff said.
louiethegreater Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - I believe laissez-faire cannot work as long as there are nationstates. Thats why globalism is riding on the vehicle of free trade. Globalist intend to end nationstates as we know them.
ticklemetesticles Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - I dont see either idea working for the working class which will always be the majority only the ruling class. Take the US for example unemployments up and so is the stock market. As our labor jobs dissappear over seas. Which makes shareholders happy as they get larger returns but,at what cost to the nation. Keynesianism I belive would at least be a stepin the right direction. If everything is deregulated then theres nothing to stop the downsizing of our jobs and the loss of our fragile economy.
louiethegreater Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - I agee with you, none of this happened accidently. It is a carefully contrived plan to bankrupt the country and force us into a global government.
Plesoteric Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Buckley's brand of Conservatism is an intellectual conservatism that is absent from the debate today. I think the Goldwater brand of conservatism could theoretically come back since it appeals to people on both sides.
MajorSecord Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - today the terms "intellectual" and "conservative" have become mutually exclusive. There is nothing socially or fiscally conservative about the hawkish neo-cons and their imperial foreign policy.
drowsy4 Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - I agree with louiethegreater. This economic breakdown was no accident, as was the war, and 9/11
louiethegreater Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - Well said Plesoteric, Plus the fact that Goldwater was right. So was Ross Perot, Pat Buchanan, and Ron Paul.
oldstylebud816 Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - Buckley was making a joke about when he threatened to punch Gore Vidal. He wasn't serious, thats why the crowd laughed.
olga2415 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - William Buckley is an egotistical, elitist, bag of wind whose syntax is so configurated and obfuscating, that I do not think even he knows what he says by the time he gets to the end of a sentence......
brian8793 Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - Don't forget bigfoot and the chupacavra
brian8793 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Buckleys intelligence is a little intimidating.
krappsy Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Ai! Dios mio! El Chupacabra was the mastermind behind it all.
brian8793 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - If Chomsky became a member of The Church, and excepted Christ into his heart, he would be more in line with how Buckley thinks.
Blucius13 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - What are you talking about?
Myragor Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - A stick-like Buckley speaking as though his lily white overindulged self could land any punch better than a love tap. "Let us adjurn to the courtyard and commence fisticuffs?"
brian8793 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints:)
glitch6068 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Hey everybody, remember when we had intellectual debates in the USA? Yeah.. neither do I...
mjuslen Says:
Nov 23, 2009 - Hey idiots, he made a joke. He was quoting himself from a confrontation he had with someone who called him a Nazi. Look up "William Buckley Vs Gore Vidal" for the context of his comments.

Pilkie101 Says:
