Aug 22, 2009 - I think the reason is another: the game was originally supposed to be set in the present, and the decision to set it in 1991 was made when some of the cutscenes were already made. So far, I found 2 cutscenes supporting this idea: 1) When you fight against the marshmallow man, Peter says "Times Square, post urban renewal". But the urban renewal only took place in 1993. (I'll post the next reason in another comment)

Sep 16, 2009 - If your getting it for the computer be ready it might be laggy. I got a pretty good computer and I thought it was cause everything was set to high was the cause of the laggyness in the movements (and some cutscenes where speech is quicker than the visual) but even in low graphics its the same thing. But the game is great though regardless and I recomend upgrade your equipment asap. I am on 2nd play through and only been killed once.

Sep 17, 2009 - I solved the lag issue. I set the laptop power to high performance and I took and reduced the video display size in game from 1600x900 widescreen to the middle sized widescreen. All laggy sluggishness went away. The game is full screen with wide screen cut scenes (was that way to begin with) and the audio and video are synced perfectly unlike before where the audio finished first. I am going to try upping the graphics settings to see if it plays the same as now.

Sep 30, 2009 - I played this game at max setting on my q6600 - 260 gtx black edition 216 and 2 gig of ram. Max settings, almost no lag. Sometimes the games ''load'' in situation it should not, but it happenned only occasionnaly, nothing that you really notice. Great game, great feelings to get back in this universe !!
