Nov 19, 2009 - This review is horseshit !! In order to make an educated review, a clear understanding of manufacturer stated horsepower from the fly wheel vs actual horsepower to hit the pavement (at the wheel), should be understood. Power is lost through the vehicle components when testing on a dyno, so it will obviously be less, as any other vehicle manufactured on this planet. To crack out a marker and deface this Shelby is classless and simply displays the lack education and technical knowlege!

Nov 19, 2009 - Actually, Edward VII (the Duke of Windsor) and George Vl were the only members of the Royal family within the last 300 years who DIDN'T marry a near or distant cousin. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip are second cousins once removed as well as 3rd cousins. Queen Victoria married her first cousin, Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha. Prince Charles and Diana Spencer were very distant cousins as are both Charles and Camilla.
acs4llc Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - Of course, royals don't necessarily marry cousins more than ordinary Brits, it's just better documented!

Nov 19, 2009 - But Darwin wasn't a royal, and he was wed to his first cousin. I watched a show on NatGeo, it said that only a fraction of Americas population are products of insest after 1776, but more then half of Britains population are products of insest post 1776.

Nov 19, 2009 - look I am not a Mustang guy in any way of the sort. But to put the 500 badge on a car that makes 447 hp is kind of messed up to the buyer to pay almost 70G for it. BUT thats still an amazing amount of power. Ive never liked ford so to upgrade from the usual 281 4.6 in the GT to the 5.4 in the GT500(447) is okay in my book.
stangman281v8 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - It has 500 HP at the flywheel, that is why its called the GT500. All cars are rated at the flywheel, not the wheels from the factory, and the MSRP is in the mid 40s.
MilitantOldLady Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - yes because you drive arround riding on a fly wheel, not the actual wheels....thats wishfull thinking isnt it

Dalton404 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - horse power (hp) is rated at the fly wheel on an engine dyno that doesn't have the resistance of the drive terrain. and brake horse power (bhp) is the full vehicle dyno. the manufactufe tells you the hp instead of the bhp because it sounds better and makes the sale. but the roush mustang has the bhp of 415 because it is a race built car.
zckls04 Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - I am a Brit living in America. I have a Mustang GT which I bought primarily because it was cheap. It's underengineered, badly made, all the trim is falling off, the suspension is embarrasingly bad and the handling is pathetic. And I absolutely love it. My previous cars were an Audi A4 and a Golf and I'd never go back to them. It really is horses for courses. I would say though that to get offended by him writing on a Mustang is quite childish.

Nov 22, 2009 - Thats odd... i have an 06 gt and mine looks like new.... and suspension wise... best handling car ive owned yet.

scape05 Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - that GT500 makes over 500 HP with the 15% drive train loss. 447hp + 15% = 514.

larco87 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - Brake Horsepower is done from flywheel. Horsepower is done from dyno which they used.
