Nov 9, 2009 - Just puttin' this out there. Chevelle isn't any more mainstream than they were back with WWN and TTOT. If anything they were more mainstream back then. Look at their album sales, that's what defines mainstream, not sound. Mainstream isn't a genre. Anyhoo, back to the point. They're selling less albums than they did back then. So if anything they're more obscure. People just can't take change and maturity anymore.

Nov 9, 2009 - Plus! What they're playing right now, it is an honest expression of themselves. That's what music is. If they stuck with their original sound, they would be lying in the form of music. That's why their sound changed. And i my opinion. WWN and TTOT kinda sound the same, not very unique. The only real difference is that Pete went from Drop B tuning to Drop A# tuning. which made it sound more "raw." But if you listen this album is more raw. No pitch correction, etc. Rant over
