Sep 13, 2009 - I remember buying that out of print CD many years ago in Berkeley at Rasputin's, and while driving home, I put it on--I started to sing along to it and when he got to "tall like a tree", the key change and the wavering of Ray's voice got to me--tears started rolling down my cheeks. Such a beautiful version of this song--NO ONE sang it like Ray Charles, and no one ever will have his soulful touch. All these modern hip hop singers could learn a thing or two from him. RIP Ray.

Sep 13, 2009 - Kermit's version is MSU Spartan football fans' theme song. Ray takes it to another level altogether. Cheer up, MSU faithful, basketball is always right around the corner.

Nov 6, 2009 - Ray sings the hell out of this one. He puts so much feeling in it, I guess that's what you call soul. The music along with Rays strong soulful vocals, does something to the heart. Do you recall when this song was played on the Cobsy Show, Rudy got upset because she could wear a certain dress to a party, This song did wonders for that episode. Just like the ending of the song turns positive, Rudy obey her Mom and the day was another happy Huxtable Family ending..Rest In Peace, Brother Ray, ..Love

Nov 14, 2009 - "It Ain't Easy Being Green" (that's how they wrote it) was recorded on Ray Charles' "Renaissance" Album. I have it on 33 LP, but maybe you can find it on CD through Ebay or Amazon. Good Luck!

Nov 16, 2009 - Ray takes this song to a whole new level only someone of his calibre could do. RIP Ray. You the man.
