The problem with the current generation is that people are too "addicted" with special effects - (forgive the misuse of the hypen, it's suppose to be a dash) explosions, supernovas - and most of the time they lack substance.

It is more about the characters and their personalities than the plot. Both flow smoothly. In SGU, we seen 5 episodes so far, and so we don't get a sense of familiarity with the characters. When we read the first page about a new character in a book, they come as strange to us but as the story progresses, they become familiar to us.

Nov 20, 2009 - i always found sg1 to be better. in fact i didnt really get into atlantis until sg1 had ended. it was like, theres nowt else to watch lets give it a try. i admit, i feel toally in love with atlantis and really enjoy it. but sg1 was the original, mostr magical show for me. always the best in my eyes
