Feb 27, 2009 - I understand what he is trying to say here, but he is just buying into a white power structure that holds minorities responsible for the stereotypes that white society has made about them. This shift in responsibility seems to just be a way of making us feel better about making racist statements, or being in positions of power we don't deserve.

Oct 31, 2009 - They don't have to have a huge beard but they do have to have facial hair, and don't ask me why or how that got into their laws. An Orthodox Jewish person told me that. (She hates being called a Jew, b/c several members of her family were killed in the holocaust.) She claims there's a law that says they're not allowed to turn on lights on the Sabbath, b/c they're "not allowed to complete a circuit." Some of their laws don't sound like laws at all.
