Nov 13, 2009 - yes we do not need them. under capitalism the economy is controlled privately by capitalists who use it to produce profit for themselves. under socialism the economy is controlled socially and democratically, production is for need not for profit. the possibilities are endless. the incentive is to work less, as technology advances, productivity increases, meaning we will produce what we need in less time, reducing the working day for all until eventually we only need to work a few hrs a week!
