Sep 11, 2009 - There would be no discussion about who was the better singer and musician without Tim. Without the Father, there is no Son. I saw Jeff live once and have never been as impressed, with any other performance, by thousands of others. I never got to see Tim but I still have all of his vinyl and some live heroin fueled CD's recorded in NYC. They both made ageless music.

Sep 12, 2009 - It's true. Danny Thompson is an incredible bassist. Was fortunate enough to see him play with Richard Thompson on the "Mock Tudor" tour.
cajunagent Says:
Sep 12, 2009 - Well, Nick Drake goes without saying!!! ; )
SCMowbray Says:
Sep 17, 2009 - Wow, I'm a HUGE Jeff/Tim Buckley fan, Nick Drake is a freakin mentor and Richard Thompson amazing as well. But I can't believe no mention to Bert Jansch. SO MANY PEOPLE are oblivious to Jimmy Pages HUGEST influence. It amazes me. Just saw him play recently and at 70 something years old he is still the Robert Johnson of the times. Jimmy took so much from Bert, only today is he finally starting to admit it. Listen to Berts 'Black Waterside" then Jimmys Black Mountainside a year or two later

Sep 18, 2009 - He had a beautiful voice...
SCMowbray Says:
Sep 20, 2009 - Just want to clarify a few comments that weren't clear. First, I did not intend on making it sound or seem like I was slamming Jimmy and I do apologize. I am a huge JP fan as well. And I have no right in claiming HUGEST influences for anyone lol. The other thing I wanted to clarify is that Black Waterside and Black Mountainside are BOTH based on an old traditional Irish Folk Song. Back to Tim... God he had a great voice and emotion behind it!! What an inspiration and influence. God bless!
