Sep 23, 2009 - We are putting on this performance at school, and we have been practicing this song, it is so much fun to sing! Even though I have quite a small part I am still really excited about the end performance because when we have all the music down and are all in costume I can tell it is going to be one of the best school plays our school has done, up there with Oliver! lol

Sep 27, 2009 - Actually, aside from the fact that those in strict observance don't allow themselves to be filmed on Shabbat, a prayer blessing the children of the house, the lighting of the Shabbat candles (by the eldest woman), and the singing around the Shabbat table are pretty accurate.

Oct 15, 2009 - Who/what are they referring to when they say "keep them from the stranger's way?" She looks at Perchik so I am kinda confused.

Oct 20, 2009 - A divinely inspired song and show!! Amazing!!

bKiwiD Says:

Oct 25, 2009 - Perchik isn't a Jew; he's a visitor, a stranger with ways that aren't their own. It's awkward because he's at the table while they're talking about how to protect their children from the influence his ways might have on their lives. It's understandable- they have tradition, a predictable, accepted and peaceful way of life, and they're right about the fact that the influx of outsiders ultimately leads to chaos and the loss of their way of life. A beautiful song. I love this movie :)

Oct 26, 2009 - This truly is a beautiful song!

nickling1 Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - Perchik is a Jew. The reason he is at the table in the first place is because Tevye agreed to let him come and teach his daughters about the Good Book, only a Jew would be allowed to do that. If he was not Jew, Hodel would have been the first to feel her fathers wrath instead of Chava.

Oct 31, 2009 - Actually Perchik is a Jew, a secularized Jew. Otherwise he would not have been at Sabbath with them.
