Ethernet and Wi-fi cards are completely separate in the computer and do not send any signals to each other. The aluminum foil parabolic antenna might work, if you have an external Wi-Fi antenna that you can wrap the antenna around, like a spy microphone with the computer's wi-fi antenna working as the microphone.
