Nov 14, 2007 - The real truth is that record companies would not exist without people copying/sharing their products "elegaly". File sharing or even Youtube for example is their main source of pruduct advertising and they know it and want people to share. Copyright act allows them to make extra money from law suits.

Dec 5, 2007 - You still happy with that intelligent comment? Hahaha. Ah, your alright! But you won't believe how someday you'll look back at your youth and think... WTF was I doing acting like that back then? Trust me, been there, done that. Take care dude!

Jun 17, 2008 - I wonder how record companies made any profit before the internet emerged, if that were true. Infact all statistics show that illegal file sharing has hurt the industry. Only small independent musicians and indie film makers have a benefit, with free advertizing.

Oct 26, 2008 - VCR, cassettes, etc. People still copying other people's stuff and giving/letting other people borrow. Therefore spreading the word of said artist/movie, etc. I am against buying a copied vid/music and/or saying that it was mine and illegally downloading an entire playlist from one cd. If these companies cared so much about piracy, they should have the RECORD button taken off every software, dvd player, vcr, cd player, etc.

Jan 13, 2009 - But because youtube has these videos on there site they are supporting the copyright material in away right? and thus they have to take it off? so they could be held responsible if they didnt take it off because they knew it was there and they arent getting rid of something that is not supposed to be on the site? i think u have a very good point and maybe i didnt catch exatcly everything that was being said... but im just trying to get a better view in my head anyway thanks :D

Jan 31, 2009 - silentd1, yes, buisness has gone down. but... let me explain this simply. do they really need more then 1 loaded boeing 747? its not like buisness will STOP. they are still making billions of dollars. AND... people are STILL buying CD's,DVD's, and GAMES. people who watch a video with a song by a band in it, should have the right to watch it.

Mar 27, 2009 - youtube violates the established copyright act. ~FAIR USE~ Copyright Disclaimer Under Section 107 of the Copyright Act 1976, allowance is made for "fair use" for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statute that might otherwise be infringing. Non-profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of fair use. want to play legal games? , youtube/WMG think no one knows this-

Jul 24, 2009 - Why didnt youtube do this when youtube first came out. If they are in compliance with the man-dates why not from day one. Even if they do it now they should still be held accountable because when we ( Youtube's majority population ) are copyrighted it stays with us until we are banned or we leave and delete the account. Just sayin
