Sep 1, 2009 - Doug has been rtrianing bears for almost 50 years, Im sure he knows how dangerous they can be, but to this date his bears have never harmed anyone. his training methods are simple, He only takes newborn cubs and from Day one they learn that he is the boss, Bart was a MASSIVE bear and he never hurt Doug once.

Sep 5, 2009 - Did you know that at one point all DOGS were wild? They weren't always "man's best friend". People took em, domesticated em, and here we are today. Same can happen with other animals too.. Look at how many different types of pets there are today. ALL animals have a wild instinct/origin. My only argument is.. picking an animal to domesticate as large as this grizzly bear is risky business... the bear may be "playing" but it can still cause harm to a human being unintentionally.

Sep 13, 2009 - if you take care for an animal since pup, and make sure its always well fed and not hungry it doesnt matter if its an elephant or a tiger you play with... but of course accidents can still happen even people loose minds but this is a clear proof that it can happen and its beautiful to watch

Books, movies, and cartoons from Dumbo, Bambi, Watership Down,etc--they all humanize wild animals until the masses of people urn to commune with natures wildest. Sep 26, 2009 - The Bear is a very good movie. If this guy trained Bart in that, props to him. I'd love to see a bear up close, but I don't know that I would want to pet one. Bet that guy has plenty of bruises haha. The tiger that "attacked" Roy wasn't exactly attacking him, it just thought he was in trouble so instinctively grabbed him by the neck to take him to safely. Unfortunately, Roy has skin instead of fur.
