Nov 18, 2009 - Wow... that just brought me waaaaay back. Come to think of it, it wasn't that long ago that our imagination pretty much had to expand the 18bit graphics. Now look at us, 1080p worth of no imagination. Awesome vid, I'm gonna go play some old school mario kart.

Nov 19, 2009 - Well Metal Gear actually created a game "type". Crash Bandicoot is imo the most legendary adventure game, so why not put it there? And Resident Evil is too a some kind of a pioneer in horror-shooting games

Nov 21, 2009 - I wouldn't say today's games have no imagination. I mean look at all the teams that hire comic book writers and novelists just to put a good story out, and a lot of the gameplay in the games is pretty smooth and even in these new games. I think the only real reason a lot of the new games are labeled unimaginative is that there are a couple shining stars like Fallout 3 or GTA4 that overshadow the rest. If you mean whimsical type, there are some of those out there as well. Games are only improving

ColeMcGrath Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - For instance a lot of the DS games involve improved interaction and such reminiscent of the old arcade style games. Scribblenauts is one of these types. Even the xbox live arcade has a lot of the old-style ideas with improved upon execution and style, and some styles are still new. The old games were a fantastic stepping stone and serve as a nice nostalgia injection, but there's a reason they turn from 'game' to 'collector's item' usually, and there's nothing wrong with that -- it shows progress

Albanianator Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - haha yea I guess, but that's the lame version of zelda which the majority of people don't remember zelda from that clip you showed.
