Nov 12, 2009 - I love sarcasism! You are kidding. . . right? If not: Pancho: Willie --- Lefty: Merle. Pancho Villa has nothing to do with this - you DO get that, right? There was life after the Alamo and even after General George Pershing - you do know Black Jack, right?

Nov 12, 2009 - poncho (willie nelson), lefty (merle haggard)
remrafgod Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - Merle is not comfortable with horses. At 1:45 his horse starts to move and they cutaway so the wrangler holding the horses head can steady the animal before Merle jumps off. Willie's deceased son, "Wild Bill", (suicide on 12/25/1991) did the riding shots for Merle. At 2:00, notice the guy holding the horse's head for Merle and at 2:33, notice the cut to a different shot. That is Wild Bill swinging up on the horse and riding off. At 4:00, the song's writer, Townes Van Zandt, is playing guitar.

Nov 14, 2009 - I did some plumbing at Townes' cousin's house out here in Ft. Worth, Tx. Man it's sad how the Van Zandt's basically bailed on Townes; let's just say they did have any kind words for the ol' guy.
