Sep 28, 2009 - It seems that this can be easily installed in future engines (as an optional?) and do the procedure in flight. Kind of retractabile peripheral sprinklers.

TehMG Says:

Sep 30, 2009 - Wouldn't work well. This engine doesn't actually run during the cleaning procedure. The starter is what is used to spin the turbine during the process (in the case of large aircraft, a compressed air starter, where air comes from the APU or an external source). If fuel was put into the engine during the procedure, not only would the water distribute unevenly, but the water would also vaporize inside the turbine, not performing any cleaning.

TehMG Says:

Sep 30, 2009 - Not to mention the cost of getting it engineered and approved for installation into the aircraft, and the added weight, and more weight means higher operating costs (more fuel, less cargo).

pablof59 Says:

Oct 1, 2009 - Mmmm, you're right. Then once reached a 33000 feet altitude the engines must be shut down, engines washed until 15000 feet and then restarted. What if they don't?? Forget my ideas, keep on with this company!

sideslide23 Says:

Oct 2, 2009 - when you fly into the polluted air then your engine gets dirty like this so they have to wash it out to keep dirt from damaging the enigne.

Other groups races could of created their own technologys but this elite group of people have hogged it all to them selves the greedy fucking corrupt bastards. why should one group of people hog the worlds oil.
