Nov 23, 2009 - yeah - i agree - i think that the bear is 'playing' with the dog - means a lot of different things. it's like the dogs see the bear as big momma - but then it's like the bear then plays at raping / eating the dog. the dog gets a nice big warm hug out of it at least. it must be cold in those places.

They ARE social animals and YES if they where hungry they would choose survival and that would mean eating the dogs. HOWEVER THEY at least can connect with another creature just for the pure fun and enjoyment of it. Nov 24, 2009 - no, they truly are playing. i was in churchill canada a few yrs back and saw this for my self. the dog owner said they may lose a dog every now and then, but the bears really do just hang out with the dogs.

OH, Al Gore is a over the top BUT he is bringing public awareness about our impact on the environment (if it is an over the top one) BUT the point of this whole argument is: Obama is not a Communist. Polar Bears are Vulnerable and with the loss of habitat they are becoming increasingly more vulnerable, to the point that they may eventually become extinct. AND Environmental Science is not at all useless.
