Aug 5, 2009 - Just to add to this (and I agree with your points): in the Little Britain DVD extras for series 1, Walliams and Lucas said that the idea of a character who insists on starring in a show, writing and singing the theme seemed 'childish' to them. He was made a child in the radio series, and when this went on TV, they took the opportunity to make the sight gag with a miniature Dennis Waterman.
