Nov 8, 2009 - awesome job!!!!!!!!!!! i want to become a cake decorator when i grow up and i already did several cakes but what were you using to stick the fondant on top of the other fondant like your flowers? it almost seemed like water to me please respond!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nov 8, 2009 - You got it! It's water, lightly applied by the small brush. =))

Nov 8, 2009 - I am sorry, but I do not speak Spanish. Maybe someone can translate this for you. After cake has cooled, she puts a thin layer of buttercream frosting on it. It is important that it is applied smoothly, for bumps may show or tear the fondant. She then puts it into the refrigerator so the frosting will harden (1+ hour). When cake is ready, start rolling out the fondantnot before, because it will dry out too quickly and wont bend form to cake as easily. Hope this answers your question! =)

Nov 8, 2009 - Be sure the sides are as smooth as the top. At :27 seconds in, you see Robin using a long spatula to smooth the sides as she turns the cake. Have you tried that method? Then let it harden in the refrigerator. Let me know if that works for you.

Nov 8, 2009 - did she use like straws to support her cake? i use plastic dowels and they are SO hard to cut and she used scissors! where do i find them???
cookingupastory Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - They are like stiff plastic straws. She buys them at a specialty cake supply store. Maybe a craft store has them - or google for a cake decorating store in your area. Hope this helps! =)

Nov 8, 2009 - What do you use on fondant seashells to make them look like pearls? Thank you

Nov 9, 2009 - I do that...my cake looks better and smoother than when I cover it with fondant. I do let it sit in the fridge over night to be sure its hard as well.... :( Do you think I use too much of cream on the sides?

Nov 17, 2009 - Jesus (Yeshua) is the Messiah! According to God, we are all sinners, and the penalty is eternal death! The good news is that God loves us so much He sent His Son Jesus to die for our sins for us. Jesus was crucified and buried, but God raised Him from the dead. Jesus is YHWH, the Lord God. Confess your sin to God and ask Him for forgiveness. Call upon Jesus Christ and ask Him to be your Lord and Savior. You will be forgiven and will have eternal life by believing in Jesus Christ.
