Oct 14, 2009 - people are so detached from everything poetic or gestural intent. this was way beyond its time and extremely powerful so much that Chaplin had to go into exile...this isnt about tabloid reality.

Oct 23, 2009 - This scene, from 1940, during the opening years of the world, had an enormous impact on allied policies and public perceptions. It is politically and historically significant beyond anything you can imagine.

Oct 26, 2009 - I think this makes sence because if you think about it that is hitler and he is showing that hitler had the whole world in his hands and controling it aswell. But he had to use comedy aswell

Nov 19, 2009 - I highly doubt that. Think about it. This film came out in 1940. Hitler was around until 1945. Do you really think the Nazis let Charlie Chaplin and his crew go into Hitler's office and make a film which mocks Hitler? While he was still alive!
