Sep 14, 2009 - Oh thank you sir!

CrossSection Says:

Sep 15, 2009 - actually ive heard plenty of british people speak like that, "i went 'hospital"

coventrygardens Says:

Sep 17, 2009 - to CrossSection---- maybe the british tendency is different from what we have here in the u.s. my speech has probably been affected by british shows on television, whereas my parents haven't been affected that way. they were raised without hearing much british speech at all.

Sep 17, 2009 - This Video reminded me that I should be more thankful I don't have to learn Latin anymore. :D

msghana Says:

Oct 1, 2009 - Classic! Bless my Latin teacher's heart...we were rubbish students :)

spitwater87 Says:

Oct 2, 2009 - in this vid, its to mock the teaching method which was last time used to teach Latin, (GT Method). Its learning Latin through English, and is inefficient and pointless. Nice and hilarious.

heartjon Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - Yeah, such a hassle. How do people manage?

heartjon Says:

Oct 4, 2009 - Well, the bit was probably not aimed at mocking a particular method of teaching Latin so much as connecting Brian's reality to what must have been a common experience for most British school kids: being mercilessly corrected by the tyrannical Latin teacher for one's shitty grammar.

dorsal08 Says:

Oct 11, 2009 - Any foreign language teacher has to love this scene!

charlies86angel Says:

Oct 21, 2009 - I second that! I'm kinda tempted to use this in one of my classes myself! :-D

eurofix Says:

Oct 23, 2009 - Not only british school kids belive me:)

DRoBeR Says:

Oct 23, 2009 - Supreme! :D I've always loved Latin language. It sounds rare when it does with British accent. Monty Python guys are sooooooooo funny. :)

DrugProwlingWolf Says:

Oct 27, 2009 - I remember the first time I ever saw this I nearly died. I had a German teacher just like John Cleese in this scene.

NoEoAoRo Says:

Oct 29, 2009 - Just curious. How ould teach the languange?

Mann1979HH Says:

Oct 29, 2009 - Und kannst du jetzt Deutsch sprechen? So, can you speak German now?

DrugProwlingWolf Says:

Oct 29, 2009 - Ein bisschen.

Mann1979HH Says:

Oct 29, 2009 - Watch this in German! Look for "Das Leben des Brian - Lateinunterricht" or "Schwanzus Longus" / "bigus dickus" In the video "Schwanzus longus" the lisping of the imperator is stronger and funnier than in original English. "Schleudert den Purschen zu Poden!" instead of "Schleudert den Burschen zu Boden!"

Nov 2, 2009 - That soldier is just my Latin teacher with a sword...

KekkeiGenkai8 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - sammmeeeeee

TnseWlms Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - The one thing I didn't understand about Life of Brian is why Brian Cohen had a modern surname, (considering Life of Brian was praised for being more historically authentic than most epic movies).

Blue12344321 Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - Haha, my latin proffesor is British, he sounds exactly like the centurion when hes correcting people, a little less violent though.

MagnificentFiend Says:

Nov 20, 2009 - Perfect, except that "domum" isn't in the locative but the accusative due to the "motion towards" that the centurion mentioned. The locative would be "domo" and means "at home".

eFKayKemi Says:

Nov 24, 2009 - ahahah, awesome ...
