Oct 24, 2009 - the driver is bill hickman
Staszu13 Says:
Oct 25, 2009 - That was a DAMN good chase. Just one false note: how come the train was free of graffiti? It was 1971, after all.
altrent27 Says:
Oct 27, 2009 - Nearly impossible for me to believe 90 MPH figure at any time during filming. I realize we have spliced-together footage; still, 90 MPH =132 feet per second. Among the fastest front-bumper POV I can see is a short segment shortly after 1:02 -- bumper camera passes three cars stopped on the right. Longest car in '71 was Buick Electra at perhaps 19.5 ft.; call it 20. IF these three cars were Electras (which they were not) and were each a few feet apart, say that'd be 66 ft. (continued above...)
altrent27 Says:
Oct 27, 2009 - That 66 feet is convenient because it's half of 132. So for the camera car to be going 90 MPH there -- during, IMHO, the fastest part of any sequence -- it would have to cover the distance in 0.5 seconds. Even being generous, by the video timer it's more like one full second, if not a shade longer. One full second = 66 FPS or 45 MPH. Anything longer 45 MPH. Still fast, but NOTHING like 90 MPH. Were there any other sequences where we can even *generously* say 132 FPS... (continued above...)
altrent27 Says:
Oct 27, 2009 - ...or TWICE as fast as the sequence beginning at 1:02? I just don't (and didn't) see it anywhere in there.

Oct 29, 2009 - The trouble with 'Bullitt' is that it looks like the streets have been cleared for two cars to go rampaging through San Francisco. With the F.C. it looks like things are going totally out of control.
Zibernetik Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - No little imports used in this film? No good car chase !
Glenn1967ful Says:
Nov 1, 2009 - I spotted a Beetle but that was it. Back in 71 nearly all cars in America were American, mostly with V8s. Same as in England at the time most of our cars were made here. Nowadays you have crap like Hyundais and Daewoos.
VulpineJessica Says:
Nov 2, 2009 - So Bill Hickman did the stunt driving for Gene Hackman? Apparently he also played an FBI agent in this movie.
kmothersil Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - The cars were brand new at that time they were delivered between 1969-1970.
Caobilll Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - anyone know if some one has uploaded the scene where Doyle stalks the guy at the train station. id be very great full if you linked me :)

johnyzero2000 Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - Ive always wondered if the shooting of this scene was real or just hype generated by the publicity department? How can you endanger the crew, the actor, drivers and pedestrians with such a dangerous thing? I bet this was actually planned and staged because TFC was a union film and there would have been hell to pay.
qushuman Says:
Nov 12, 2009 - hey any1 knows that movie when GH wakes up in the same day?pls answer
Sobianful Says:
Nov 13, 2009 - Hmm, I only know Groundhog Day, but it is with Murray, not Gene Hackman.

Nov 15, 2009 - is this movie worth buying?
arsoys Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - What makes the scene genius is that there's no music added. Beyond words!
AluminumJacket Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - The car chase from Bullit had music, and it was pretty amazing as well.
toastedteddybear Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - yes really. we and my friends watched this thing waiting for the car chase and we didn't even think that this chase was it. we realized it was when the movie ended
