Aug 17, 2009 - As a tourism ad, good. Tourism could help the economy. There are some very nice areas around Mt. Airy as well. Just realize Mt. Airy Mayberry are not synonymous. I was born there; visited realtives often as I grew -- my uncles were the only opticians in Mt. Airy for many years on a Main St. corner a couple of shops down from the Main Street Grill. Mt. Airy is a typical small town, slow-paced and natives looking to go elsewhere for diversion. Enjoy the whole area.
