Nov 16, 2009 - this one takes me back to my days in junior high...I never quite took to to the Pumpkins hardcore till I saw this vid. I think I might have been bored at home one day during my one homeschooled 9th grade year, when it caught my eye..different than a lot of crap I'd been seeing on Mtv before...this vid is mesmerizing, and weird, but the song will always remain a good memory of my teen years. The 90's were the best!=D

Nov 16, 2009 - I don't think that they are depressing at all. Not sure if that is true about 1979, to each their own when it comes down to dissecting a song. I just think it's about bored kids. Billy Corgan is VERY anti-drugs, so it just doesn't seem like he would write about them, even if it's subliminal. Just my opinion. I usually don't try to read too much into lyrics, or try to figure what they are really trying to say. I just listen to it.
