Nov 18, 2009 - awesome
gjsterp Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Zoolander3000: Well, I guess there is "no hope" for me. But I am in good company. Carl Sagan, Einstein, Thomas Paine, Ayn Rand, Epicurus, Bertrand Russel, Nietzsche, Stephen King, Voltaire, Mark Twain, Oscar Wilde, Isaac Asimov, Thomas Jefferson, Arthur C. Clark, Freud, Stephen Hawking, H.L. Mencken, James Madison, etal.
Zoolander3000 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - your version of truth is different than mine. i know my beliefs to be true and you hold your beliefs to be true. i am going to live with my Creator forever when i die, whereas for your view, you hold that the grave is the end, how is that hope? sure science, part of it, that we do indeed die, but if you don't believe anything bigger, that's limiting yourself and i don't feel your opening yourself to more that "may" be out there....
Zoolander3000 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - yeah, and the only thing i can tell you is negative, but that's open to your interpretation. we'll all find out when we die, or if Christ chooses to come back in our lifetimes. i'm not trying threaten, but really, what can i tell you? you don't choose to try and discern beliefs from the Bible, and you don't believe in a Creator God who loves you, so what possibly can i tell you to make life happy? what makes you happy? dieing? the life you live is pointless if the grave is it....
Hiddeknight0 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - There is one truth. Me way both be wrong, and Hindus may be right, in that when we die, we are reincarnated. What makes you so sure that you are right, other than the fear that you get when you think about dying for real? You're scared, and that's understandable. But you have to look at it logically. Why do you believe what you believe? Why do you not believe what others believe? How do you know yours is right? How do they know theirs is right? And what conclusion did you come to?
Zoolander3000 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - i'm not scared of dieing, sure i'm curious and yes, a little nervous, but there is so much trust i have in God, and the reason being His Spirit lives in me. I've experienced God in my life, and that fact that this God chooses to love me and be with me, is all i need to know He is real and the only God. I feel His Presence, and He is the only true God b/c all others do not match up even close. It's hard to explain, but there are so many reasons to believe.
Zoolander3000 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - The Bible is God's Word, and the reasons why we are Created, according to the Bible, is so true in my life, like i said, i've experienced God, and the action He does in my life, is more the power to believe. His promises never fail, just reading the Bible, one can see that, i've seen it and i've seen my prayers answered. He's all i need, and He loves me, and accepted me the way i was when i came to Him, and accepting Jesus in my life has changed me and now i'm saved for eternal life with Him!!
gjsterp Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Zoolander: "The truth may be puzzling. It may take some work to grapple with. It may be counterintuitive. It may contradict deeply held prejudices. It may not be consonant with what we desperately want to be true. But our preferences do not determine what's true." Carl Sagan
gjsterp Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Zoolander" "I would love to believe that when I die I will live again, that some thinking, feeling, remembering part of me will continue. But much as I want to believe that, and despite the ancient and worldwide cultural traditions that assert an afterlife, I know of nothing to suggest that it is more than wishful thinking." Carl Sagan
gjsterp Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Zoolander: You hit upon the truth of the major reason to believe. It makes you and all others who believe feel good. Have a good time believing and Peace. geo
gjsterp Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Zoolander3000: "Pray: To ask the laws of the universe to be annulled on behalf of a single petitioner confessedly unworthy." -- Ambrose Bierce
gjsterp Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Zoolander3000: This is rather harsh, but I think it hits home. Abraham Sandwich "The most powerful nation on earth has millions of literate, educated citizens who actually believe a talking snake tempted a woman to eat a magic apple that caused her to be ashamed of her genitals? What chance do we have of talking sense to these idiots?"
Hiddeknight0 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - It's hard to explain because you cannot explain it.
Hiddeknight0 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Is that all you can say? Random bullshit? God waxxed my car the other day, shoulda seen him, it was awesome. What, you don't believe me? Well fuck you, I don't need proof any more than you do. Do I, Jesus? Jesus is sitting next to me. He says I don't need proof. Take that.
Zoolander3000 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - i'll pray for you, but your attitude is all you need to look at, without a willingness to explore and open your mind, your mind is as closed as mine to believing in something other than what you do now. i know what i know to be true, and the Holy Spirit testifies to God being with me and loving me, but other things point to why i believe, good health, nature, etc. etc. i love God b/c He first loved me. I love Him b/c He chose to have a relationship with me. without Him, my existence is nothin
Zoolander3000 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - so by saying Jesus is next to you, you acknowledge He exists? you breathe oxygen and it's invisible, but you still believe in that don't you? I'm willing to take the reward of following God's Will even though i can't see Him, although i see His work in my life and others' lives. His love overwhelms me, and i hope you come to the point where you feel God one day too, feel His love, and are able to escape satan's grasp on your heart. i will pray for you, shun it if you will, but i'm still gonna.
HansTheAtheist Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - Christians are funny (if not a bit naive).
Hiddeknight0 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - Pray for me all you want, it can't hurt none. The difference between Jesus and Air is that one is a gas that can be observed, tested, predicted and repeated, and Jesus cannot.
Zoolander3000 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - you're right, Jesus is fake. my bad. sorry to believe in Someone bigger than myself who loves me and wants a relationship with me. how can i deny my Creator?
Hiddeknight0 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Here's a tip for you... instead of spending your time praising a non-existant being for doing nothing, how about you spend that time with your actual creators - your parents. And your family. Because I'll tell you what - if Christ did exist, and he was as good as is said about him, then he would want you to spend your time with your family rather than be talking on some internet messaging system to someone you don't know and will never meet about how good or not good he was. Just my two cents...
PhoenixPheather123 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - @Zoolander3000 So OUR minds are closed now? Really? Wow... I love your lack of logic... Not even gonna ask what you are doing here as some sort of internet mercenary in a place clearly marked as ATHEIST.
PhoenixPheather123 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - @Zoolander3000 Actually, while oxygen may be invisible, it does contain mass. You can actually weigh it. Plus, it can actually be proved, and when combined with other elements (like hydrogen) it could become visible. Can God be rendered visible? Or are you that blinded by your outdated faith that prevents any scientific achievement to develop to see 'Him" or (I might go to Hell for saying this) "Her" Christianity-Also an anti -feminist group.
PhoenixPheather123 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - @Zoolander3000 LOL You are so funny! Isn't this person so darn cute? I just want to take you home and play!
mornmeril Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Cthulhu Fhtagn!

Hiddeknight0 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Science doesn't need to have an answer for everything in order to be correct about what it does answer. Would you rather believe a lie rather than admit you don't know the answer? Religion is comfortable, but not real. It makes you feel safe having an answer to everything, and it makes you feel safe thinking that if you died you would not actually die, but live even happier. It's safe. But false. Continue to believe your falsity if it makes you feel safe. I prefer the truth, personally.
