Oct 30, 2009 - I hate how black people are allowed to hold a man who is just as racist as any KKK member as a hero. This man wanted to separate black and white people into different nations within the United States. He also said he viewed the black man as being more powerful than european man.

Vizzini25 Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - This man left the Nation of Islam (A natioalistic movement which had nothing to do with the religion of Islam) and converted to Islam, the religion.

derekms3636 Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - you can never be a racist if you hold no power. you can express prejudice. As black people, we have never been in a position of power so we can't and will never be racist.

derekms3636 Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - Malcolm X was a brilliant black man who was for the most part self taught. He understood that the government was responsible for laws that hindered the progress of black people, and i believe that he felt that extreme measures had to be taken to correct the status quo at that particular time

kjones2345 Says:

Oct 31, 2009 - This was his philosophy when he spoke for Elijah Muhammed. However, when he separated from the Nation of Islam(NOI) and after he took his pilgrimage to Mecca he began speaking against racial separation and explained that he would work with ANYONE willing to strive for real change

Kurnurs Says:

Nov 2, 2009 - Someone doesn't know Malcolm X.

ki4cpe Says:

Nov 2, 2009 - Yes, this matters still today! GOD BLESS YOU MALCOM X! (from a white man)

dtownron Says:

Nov 3, 2009 - We need more Malcolm X's. What a remarkable human being he was. R.I.P. to our shining black King.

evilevl Says:

Nov 3, 2009 - Please get your facts straight, if you don't know anything about the man or his background, not open your filthy mouth about him as you'll never achieve in your lifetime what he did in 1 year.

evilevl Says:

Nov 3, 2009 - Just like JFK.

richbullva Says:

Nov 4, 2009 - how was he ever as racist as anyone in the KKK the NOI never promoted the killing of whites nor there inhumanity its funny how folks always looks for symetry but they are not the same

richbullva Says:

Nov 4, 2009 - not true this was after he came back from Mecca notice the Beard, its funny dude wasn't all honky dory cumbaya when he came back he just realized that it was deeper than he thought

qwezzie Says:

Nov 4, 2009 - this is real talk..we need much more of this in 2009!

2003SCT Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - That same thing was said in my womens studies class based on some female philosopher's idea whom I can't remember her name. Either way though, the fact that only those in power can be racist doesnt make any sense to me. I think though it is based on some "other" definition of racism and not anything commonly understood by the average person. Prejudice only means pre judging..I don't think it means belief that your race is better. I think anyone can think(ignorantly) theirs is the best.

derekms3636 Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - I believe that you must be be in a position of power to be able to express that your race is superior to another because if you have no power there is no way you can think that way. Also institutional racism is denied blacks access to resources that whites received through public policy, in which, whites enforced.

2003SCT Says:

Nov 5, 2009 - Interesting. The only thing that is kind of different about that definition is that racism is almost more of a socio-geographical thing. Its like the only people in Japan that can be racist are the ethnic Japanese, the only people in the 'majority' of Africa are Black Africans, the only people in most of China that can be racist are ethnic Chinese and so on and so forth. Either way, it is an interesting way to look at it even if I find the concept should be called something other than racism.

scottygdaboss Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - Im white and British, but I do love Malcolm X, he got shit done and told it how it was in America. Im honoured to share the same birthday with him.

finalfuu Says:

Nov 11, 2009 - If it weren't for Malcom X, MLK's campaign prob wouldn't have been as successful as it was. The American people must have figured that King's methods were alot better than Malcom X's alternatives.

spareld Says:

Nov 13, 2009 - I agree with you :) you hear people today talk about they don't like malcolm x and haven't even heard a word he talked about. if malcolm hated white people he wouldn't have spoke infront of them on this video. I do appreicate your comment

theWanderingLark Says:

Nov 14, 2009 - The Chinese and Indians are not known to be white, last time I checked they're not living in poverty in the US.

narutoo225 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - actually before his death malcom x went down to salem and spoke against MLK's methods. He later took MLK's wife aside and told her that he thought he could do more for MLK by being against him then by supporting him.
