Nov 14, 2009 - Anarchism and democracy go hand in hand. Check on Catatonia during the Spanish civil war, the Israeli kibbutz before 1948, and the tribesman of South America that Daniel Everett has worked with.

Nov 14, 2009 - capitalisme 3

Nov 14, 2009 - This guy is wrong on a few points. The political spectrum he bemoans is the most widely accepted by political scientists. I would personally argue that the X Y spectrum is the most useful and accurate. The spectrum this man created to support his agenda is not academic, nor is it useful to anyone without the same agenda. Lumping nearly every form of government you would not support conveniently on the left (as it could just as easily be on the right) does not mean they are interchangeable.
rainick Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - the spectrum from 0 to 100 is correct The deomcracy is ruling directly by people republic is basically voting for the people. Glenn Beck was smart enough to know this
TheHatefulDead Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - "if you believe in the tooth fairy you should be thrown in jail until you smarten the fuck up!" Hahaha!! This is one of those days when I agree w/that!
elpinta Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - so how do you choose a leader in a republic? without democracy?
SynapticTransmission Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - It's the same for both... They lie to you, you vote for them, and they lie some more. But now, as a bonus, the "chosen one(s)" (stolen election or otherwise) gets to pass laws to "legally steal" (otherwise known as plunder) from you (the voter) - and me (the guy who says "I'm not voting for fucking smooth talking narcissistic sociopath criminals who belong in jail spending their time talking their way out of getting to be a bum boy for another sociopath ").
argiopeweb Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - You're confusing community vote with democracy. In a republic, a community votes to elect individuals who will make laws, typically through a system of checks and balances such as those implemented in the United States. In a Democracy; however, the group of people votes to make the actual laws. This system has no checks and balances, and no way to implement them (the people could vote them out if they didn't like them,) and is inherently unstable.
imroadkill2 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - You are an idiot. Just like we lump Conservatives on the Right and Liberals on the Left. it can be interchanged also. All he is saying is at the bottom of this ramp is no government aka anarchy. At the top of it is big government such as communism. You will personally argue that The X Y is best, so because I lean to the Right, I'm a Nazi? Also lets touch point on the most widely accepting by political scientists. During the 1700's it was widely accepted the Earth was FLAT!
SkyRifter Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Greed Wealth "Over-comes Love for others." which Hitch-hikes into Reps or Dems agendas both. both are 'Equally as evil,' you see, democracy rises when a few 'Select leaders on top, become so-obsessed with Lining their pockets with gold.' screwing all the people at the bottom. The Slope Shifts the opposite; 'each-time' "The Idea of World being One Government is Possible" Just like the 'possible future Earth in Star-Trek.' which makes space-ship exploring possible.
SkyRifter Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - 'Oligarchy' is just like the '13th' star-sign the man holding the serpent in the sky; towards the milky way. "Oligarchy" -Likes to Remain Hidden not seen, There for using both Dems Reps as Blaming shields towards the people. 'they are like the M.I.B. of government which like to keep all the dumb brainwashed!' They make people forget things for their own agendas weather they be "Good or Evil intentions."
papertiger12 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - I'm not saying you can't turn the spectrum on it's head. I'm saying that it makes no sense to put 15 types of government on one spot of the spectrum The X Y spectrum is a graph. It serves no agenda. It only seeks to be accurate. And no, you are not a nazi if you lean to the right. Do some research please. By the way, this idiot has a BS in political science and history, and taught American gov't. and comparative politics.
Darusdei Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - i love how this so softly tells that a republic would be the best type of government... i wouldnt be surprised if this is shown in ur public schools (indoctrination) overly simplifying things...
TheNerdNinja Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - Actually, I'm pretty sure "right" and "left" refer to traditional and nontraditional political opinions, respectively. Not level of government power.
PolemicalCommentary Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - This video is 100% unequivocal bullshit.
imroadkill2 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - Ok, so we have a graph of X Y. Where do you put Anarchism? To the left with communism correct? How does those two go together? With a scale graph like he shows, one side contains a big government and as the government gets bigger the higher up on the scale it is. It doesn't make since to say hey your government is either this or that in some variety.
MinisterKGB Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - never in my life have i seen such keenly slanted Propaganda
MooseOfReason Says:

manoman0 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - People, the US is a Republic, not a Democracy. Can't you get that in your brains?
Celestialbeing21 Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - Coming from me, you can call me whatever you want, it doesn't matter what type of government we have. This is the zero intelligent bullshit that has gotten the race of humanity to were it is today. Shit, people talk about stuff like 2012, we are pretty much doing a better job destroying each other.
Celestialbeing21 Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - part 2 lol. Just think about if for a little, and if you can't open your mind, then you have been conditionally installed in your brain by experience or parental guidance that the world is shiny and vast. The sad part is that it can be, we just are too busy hanging on to every penny instead of each other. This isn't guided towards anyone, but TO EVERYONE. Think, diversify. They call this anarchy, I call it "common sense" I think we should all try it.
hda094 Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - The american people still elect their leaders right? And there is such a thing as rule by law in a democracy, except that the majority can change the laws as needed every now and then. "Republic" entails that a leader is elected for a fixed period of time, and is usually referred to as president. Republics are generally democracies, and not an unique way of governing
harleykman Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - Democracies don't have laws. In democracies (even representative ones), everything is decided with a 50%+1 vote That means your "right of free speech" can be taken away by a simple vote. That sucks for minorities for like blacks or asians. In a Republic it's the laws that rule. In the case of the US that law is the U.S. Constitution which reigns supreme above all (even the majority or the Congress or president). Your right of free speech can not be taken away.
harleykman Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - This video seems accurate to me. It's simplifed, yes, but still accurate in what it presents. You might want to search for the BBC documentary "We will Force You To Be Free" which goes into depth. "We would resort to no government if it were possible. It is only to preserve our rights that we resort to any government at all." - Thomas Jefferson, Founder of the Democratic Party, author of Declaration of Independence, author of Virginia Right to Freedom of Religion

SavageArms357 Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - Well, Killing (Murder) is never OK. But you can kill in self defense. In exodus chapter 22 verse three it states "If the thief is found breaking in, and he is struck so that he dies, there shall be no guilt for his blood." But that doesn't mean I wont try every other option first. As for the other ten commandments, the first 4 I suppose non religious people could ignore as it says basically not to worship any type of idol or God. And the other 6 are quite reasonable in my opinion.
