Nov 8, 2009 - Only villains deal in absolutes.
cifier Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - "Post hoc ergo propter hoc" This seems to be your argument. This is Latin for "after this, therefore because (on account) of this." This Latin phrase has survived to this day because it is a description of a specific form of fallacy. Basically put: Premise: I don't want a relationship with God Conclusion: I will never understand/attain "his grace" I am not an atheist because I don't want a relationship with God. I am an atheist because God doesn't exists. You have it exactly backwards.
cifier Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - And because "the invisible man" does not exist, I don't want a relationship with him because I do not believe adults should have invisible friends. "Invisible friends" is an indication of mental instability.
cifier Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Now, keep in mind, I read that book too. I know of the Rebellion Story. "No free will"+"makes us slaves" I am surprised you can say this because you are advocating slavery, EXACTLY!! You say, "Stop living your life on your own terms, drop your skeptical nature and embrace a God/Religion, that has little to no evidence, as your PERSONAL salvation." But, if I use your book as a guide, God gave us free will. But now he wants to take it back? Really?
cifier Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Isn't this statement an absolute???
Brenaim Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Yes, but Its not a do or die situation, its a statement of an observed historical fact, but honestly you made my day just now lolol.
cifier Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - I wasn't sure how you would take that, but I am glad that, even in the middle of this discussion, we can still smile with each other. I have a mild concern, with your statement. My concern is, it could be taken to the extreme of life or death. More over, in my country, I see many people, who I would consider 'good,' use terms of absolutes in very lazy ways. While at the same time, some absolute statements, should be adhered to. For example, "all convicted murderers should go to jail."
Brenaim Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - The phrase is more in line with orders barked from authority figures, do this or else, your either with us or against us and so on. As for laws they are not exactly absolutes, there are grey areas such as what defines a homicide and what degree of thought process goes into the act, for example a man killing another man purposley in war isn't cosidered murder by most people (although I would).
cifier Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - But I do agree with you about your point on the scriptures being quoted. I believe those types of statements are absolute and lazy.
cifier Says:
Nov 10, 2009 - I agree.
ProgramG Says:
Nov 14, 2009 - 00:03 im an atheist have a nice day
younhol00 Says:
Nov 15, 2009 - Prove it? Where is the proof that atheism is true and correct?
ProgramG Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - i believe my first post is proof enough of my belief...or lack there of
younhol00 Says:
Nov 16, 2009 - Thank you for admitting you don't have proof that atheism is true and correct God denier.
ProgramG Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - thanks for letting me know "deny" and "nothing" have the same definition
younhol00 Says:
Nov 17, 2009 - Is that the best you got God denier, stop with the act your no atheist and there is no atheism ok soft agnostic.
ProgramG Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - do you believe in Thor? by your definition you are a Thor-denier, your definition assumes Thor exists, and if something DOES exist and you choose not to believe it you are a denier...however if Thor DOES NOT exist you cannot deny that which does not exist insert Yaweh in place of Thor and you see my point of view (if i could choose id go with Thor and his badass hammer)
younhol00 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - Haha you are so funny, why can't you answer my question is really simple here it is one more time. Where is the proof that atheism is correct and true? Sometimes you don't understand a thousand times hopefully you are not in the majority of God deniers. Is not believe is worship, you see you beleive in God just you don't worship him. Yes I believe in Thor I just don't worship him, So is Zeus, BAal. The fallen angels God kick out of heaven personify Gods to confuse men.
Danmill23 Says:
Nov 21, 2009 - I do not claim to KNOW god does not exist. I am just not convinced that YOUR claims that gods exist is true.
younhol00 Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - Vladimir Lenin once said that an atheist is not one who doesn't believe in God an Atheist is one who is at war with God. He was the Atheist communist leader of the Soviet Union and a mass murderer of his people, he went insane, so was Nitchze.
Danmill23 Says:
Nov 22, 2009 - I'm not Lenin.
ProgramG Says:
Nov 25, 2009 - go strawman!!
ProgramG Says:
Nov 25, 2009 - ive kept my posts pretty level headed (called you a Thor-denier as an example) but you constantly insult me, i dont deny that some atheists take it too far but both sides have their crazies. as for the burden of proof, its actually on you to prove your god, seeing as how there is more "proof" (i like evidence more than proof) in my favor than yours. to prove atheism you would have to either prove or disprove god(s) which you cant seeing as how god(s) are supernatural
ProgramG Says:
Nov 25, 2009 - science explains "natural phenomena" god by definition is un/supernatural therefor he is outside of science, and cannot be proven or disproven with it

younhol00 Says:
Nov 6, 2009 - Phillipians 2:9-11 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. I already said no amount of bickering, nor criticism, will stop this from happening. You in the end will bow and confess better prepare.
