Nov 3, 2009 - I listened to it. It was also elevator jazz. Uninspired, uncreative, and easily repeatable. Please look at John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Stan Getz, Lester Young. These are the people who made Jazz amazing. I'm not going to patronize you and pretend like you don't know anything about jazz, but maybe your definition of it is different from mine, and maybe it is wrong.

Nov 3, 2009 - See, here's the problem you run into citing pioneers of a music style. The fact is, they ARE the pioneers. Of course their stuff sounds good because they shaped and defined what jazz is. All well and good, right? Except that means that now everything they played...all their performances....it's been done. If people trying to get into the jazz scene today played like they did they'd just be written off as 'trying too hard to be like so and so'. Music is a constant evolution.
