There were no ancient macedonian language it was a Greek dialect the Dorian one . Ah why Alexander then choosed Greek culture and language to propagate? Was he so generous? Macedonia took it's name from Makednos in mythology who was son of Zeus and Thiias and in dorian dialect it means macedonia means the place of tall people.
