Nov 4, 2009 - Wrong. Drilling off shore WILL satisfy our needs. There are literally tons and tons of oil down there, but there is still a stupid ban on drilling. We can START those reforms by allowing the PRIVATE sector to offer alternatives, but the GOVERNMENT should work as hard as it can to fix the American energy dependence by drilling in its OWN SEAS. WHAT IS WRONG WITH DRILLING?

Then why haven't they? Cause they want to keep the supply low and demand high. Go to Santa Barbara, Califonia. They had offshore drilling there about 25 years ago and when you go to their beaches, you shoes and feet still get caked with oil tar. Drilling is ok, but it should be the LAST thing we do!

Nov 4, 2009 - Your facts are wrong. Hussein Obama did not lift drilling bans, as he CANNOT. Only the CONGRESS can. You're just MAKING FACTS UP. And no, drilling does not cause an entire beach to be caked with oil tar unless there is a SPILL, which is RARE and would be a disaster so big I would've heard of it. We need to drill NOW, so we can save the economy before it's bust. We can't depend on the Arabs to supply our oil, neither can we depend on shit useless and ridiculously expensive environmental projects.

Why are the fossil fuel industries and their deniers so totally against efforts to SLOW global warming??? Is the earth getting hotter? it was now its cooling ..whats caused this by well lets see martian ice caps were recently receding just like ours were but at a faster rate now they're getting biggerTthe ice moon europa of jupiter turned to liquid and now is just freezing up again the planet uranus 30% hotter now its cooling this is all caused by the sun. CO2 levels went up because as the oceans get hotter they release huge amounts of CO2.

In fact, there is a recent study on it: From October of this year, from Associated Press "Statisticians Reject Global Cooling" Another thing, temperatures have never increased in a straight line, and there will always be periods of slower warming, or even temporary cooling. The long-term trend of warming is important, and you have to look at the trend over 100 years or more, not 10 years.

Thats a little like saying that because car accidents often damage cars, therefore damaged cars CANNOT POSSIBLY cause car accidents. Barton is making a StrawMan: he's mistating Gore's data and then defeating the mistated data. Gore wasn't claiming consequence, he was claiming coincidence, in referring to history.
