Jun 10, 2009 - Got one on order with head band and diffuser. You mentioned the heads being swappable... I found that Fenix will sell you just the bodies and tail caps for lights to convert your L1D to a L2D or even to a P2D or any combination that share a bezel diameter at a less that half the cost of a new light... how cool is that!

Jun 11, 2009 - Holy crap. 7 minutes until he turns the damn thing on. Glad you're getting at this seriously, but a quick overview/rating system would help a LOT.

Jun 12, 2009 - HA HA HA HA HA HA !!! LOL ! I agree that's just a bit true !

argus91 Says:

Jun 12, 2009 - You cannot really swap the heads, because they're not designed to receive the same voltage input. The L2D work with 2xAA cells, give 1.5v x 2 = 3v input, while the L1D work with only 1xAA = 1.5v input. If you put the L2D head on L1D body, the light will stay all time on the lowest level, no matter the setting you choose. On the other side, if you put the L1D head on the L2D, it's the exact opposite, all time on the highest level. I tell you that because I've both these flaslights and I tried

Aug 25, 2009 - ironic, talking about batteries in the flashlight and the battery in your camera dies. wow!! lol!

CampfireTalk Says:

Aug 25, 2009 - Just got the fenix L1D with the white diffuser wand and it is simply awesome! It's amazing that a single AA battery can throw a beam of light like this. Sturdy design and all around "coolness" factor make it fun to own. Thanks to Nutn for turning me onto this great flashlight.

Aug 26, 2009 - Folks, if you are a Costco member call around to your local Costco stores and see if they have item #831076. This is a Leatherman pack which includes a "Blast" multi-tool and a Leatherman LGX200 (WHICH IS A REBRANDED FENIX L1D v 2.0). They were originally $59 or so, but Costco is discontinuing them and I just bought a dozen for $29.97 each and I'm giving them as company gifts for Christmas. This pack is worth about $95. More info on candle power forums...

Aug 26, 2009 - what is the frequency of strobe mode ?? 15Hz?

PatriotAr15 Says:

Sep 1, 2009 - Somethings I wish were different about the light: I wish it had a momentary on mode. I wish all the light level modes were accessible simply by adjusting the bezel, not by manipulating the tail button. I also wish it didn't have the Strobe/SOS function. That way it would be the PERFECT Tactical/Survival/Bug Out Kit/Bag light. I like the fact it takes common AA batteries, and the fact that it has good light level choices.

PatriotAr15 Says:

Sep 1, 2009 - I still think its a totally awesome light btw, and it will end up replacing my streamlight Tasklight 2AAs AND my Surefire G2s. This one light, can serve the same functions of both lights. (Tactical AND Practical)

briguy3418 Says:

Sep 20, 2009 - What is the difference b/w L1D and the LD10?

swedishvolvo Says:

Sep 30, 2009 - Fenix Tactical . com has some of the best prices. Thats were I picked up my TK11 and I plan on getting more Fenix lights.

dlerta Says:

Oct 12, 2009 - Great light, but the only problem is that it rolls when you lay it flat, an issue that is solved in the LD10 which is a slightly better light. I have the LD1 and the L2D (2xAA batteries and brighter), but in 95% of the time I always pick the smaller LD1, it's just a wonderful light.

yoyoguy161 Says:

Oct 14, 2009 - You ever thought of buying some 14500 li-ion AA sized batteries? They're about 5 bucks for a 2 pack at dealextreme. Your output will go from 120 on turbo to over 200 lumen out the front and you can still recharge them around 1000 times a piece.

slasher667 Says:

Oct 23, 2009 - basically the LD10 is an LD20 with a shorter body, watch his LD20 vids and imagine the length, and battery life of the L1D and you have the LD10.

iyn1911 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - Thanks nutnfancy, I just picked one up. perfect light when I travel since my camera uses AA batteries. Good advice on the lithium batteries. the strobe feature is perfect when a ride my bicycle. Dam!, now I need another one for the back of my bike...keep up with the videos.
