Dec 24, 2008 - yamato would kill 16 of them pretty quickly. 1 bc can take down 3 Goliaths (as just witnessed). Also the strength of a battlecruiser greatly increases with each one. IMO 16 bc's would take down atleast 40 goliaths. Keeping in mind 40 goliaths is much MUCH harder to macro then 16 BC's.

Dec 24, 2008 - BCs were sort of meant to be used in TvT in conjunction with tanks supporting them. A good example is when xellos played silent_control during wcg 2005. the range of tanks/yamato allows you to creepy forward, making it very hard to defend against. valkys don't do as much damage due to the low damage per hit and high armor of BCs. in addition, they can't fire against ground for the tanks, which makes it hard for the ground battle for the tanks alone.

Then you'd confuse the opponent, and you'd have a shitload of goliaths and tanks to drop on his main, while he's been making 3-4 battlecruisers to counter yours..

Dec 24, 2008 - Its good if you can catch like 5 dropships going for a big drop in yr main offguard, but if you're gonna build wraiths with cloak JUST for that then its not worth it. Gols will do just fine. The wratih thing is a suitable transition from 2 port wraiths though

Dec 26, 2008 - valks suck against bcs they do like 9 damage a rocket, bcs have like 6 armor base, about 400 hps AND take out valks in about 3 hits goliaths work against small groups if you get 10 or so bcs you can just snipe gols from ridges or siege lines 3-5 at a time and repair your bcs after cloaked wraiths can work if your opponent is slow with com-sat but...pro gamers arent...flat out the best counter is bcs of your own with sci-vessle for emp and possibly ghost/lockdown altho medic/restore counters

Dec 26, 2008 - im sure he means rather then valks and this game a wraith could have sufficed BUT casy was really hoping to catch a group of 5-6 dropships together and for that valks are the way to go if casy had caught 6 dropships full of forces flash would have had to turn on his overdrive or just wired himself directly into the cpu to win (flash IS a robot fyi) ;)
