Oct 17, 2009 - Even in 1960, Ronald Wilson Reagan, alias 666, was planning and scheming to grab the U.S. for his sponsor, the Pope of the South-Land aka the Redd Riderr. Twenty years later, we all felt the Power of the Pit (although both JFK and Trick were dishing out the drivel here).
warfrek93 Says:
Oct 17, 2009 - Nixon got us out of Vietnam, remember that.
CubanCheGuevara Says:
Oct 18, 2009 - wc470- This was the first televised presidential debate. Those who SAW the debate on TV believed that JFK won. Those that HEARD the debate on radio believed that Nixon won the debate. In the end, it seems that human beings respond to visual and auditory cues that go well beyond the subject matter of the debate. Nixon LOOKED bad. What this has to do with running a country is beyond me, yet these things matter to people. Abe Lincoln wouldn't have a chance in hell with today's shallow voters.
LordAmbitious Says:
Oct 22, 2009 - actually it started with the advent of investigative journalism in the aftermath of the Watergate break in and subsequent cover up, Nixon turning out to be a crook, the tainting of the office of the President of the United states and overall cynicism that resulted.
1polymath Says:
Oct 23, 2009 - I can't believe how America has these same exact problems. You know Obama sounds exactly like Kennedy and is popular like him too. Democrate believe in creating a strong Economy in order to make things fair for poor people with an inclusionary attitude towards minorities. Monorities are also the future of America! Kennedy and Clinton knew this very well.
DreadfulRay Says:
Oct 23, 2009 - This was where people thought Nixon was debating poorly because he was sick so he looked terrible wasn't it?
lastsix76 Says:
Oct 27, 2009 - obama is nothing like JFK...JFK believed in personal freedom...obama wants to take everyone's freedoms and give them to the government.
Pinksnotgoth Says:
Oct 28, 2009 - I just had to a book report on JFK, I use to think he was a hero but now I know the truth about him. JFK wasn't a good/smart guy his whole political career was based off his daddy spending millions to cheat for him in every election all the way from the House up until the Presidency. He was the most corrupt person and biggest fraud/cheater to ever make it to the white house. Him getting shot made people think it was because he was "good" when in reality it was because he was the exact opposite.
mrwario1 Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - lol no. NO ONE, can make fun of JFK, ever picked up a history book and read on something called the cuban missile crisis?
lawlnick Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - alright. someone sounds like a conspiracy theorist here...
Celevive Says:
Nov 2, 2009 - I wouldn't say that about JFK immediately after the Bush Admin. I'm writing a thesis on the JFK road to the white house and it wasn't THAT bad.
Celevive Says:
Nov 2, 2009 - how is that true?
carpetasrock Says:
Nov 4, 2009 - his dad might have paid for his presidency, but JFK was a good president! he sure was a better president than nixon...if you should insult somebody it should be nixon since he was the biggest fraud/cheater to ever make it to the white house :)
Bestmanme08 Says:
Nov 5, 2009 - John Kennedy in great new bio (Ted Kennedy: The Early Years) at amazon!
lalala904 Says:
Nov 8, 2009 - Did he? Oh yeah, he did. Too bad about Cambodia, though.
lumpagogo Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - Hi Pinky: At 16, you are just beginning your career in scholarship so that you have time to take more than one look at JFK. Look at LBJ, Nixon and of course Exhibit A for Awful, Ronnie Reagan. Truman was not Mr Nice Guy, etc. so you have a lot of data to compile. We know you will do it and succeed!
ETericET Says:
Nov 11, 2009 - I agree with you. I am now hearing there grooming Jeb.
zoso4986 Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - amazing what a difference this first televised debate made in the election, i love jfk, and this just put him over the edge, look at nixon, he just LOOKS like the villain haha.
you2begin Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - I'm voting for Kennedy, I don't trust that Nixon guy. If I could go back in time and talk to Kennedy i'd say one thing- "Duck!"
westman34 Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - Well then for the sake of your own book report please try to write a book report on someone else.
thishereguitar Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - A couple of comments for Pinky, 1. Read lumpagogo's comments, very wise. 2. Politics is a dirty, nasty, cutthroat business. You don't get to be president unless you're tough as nails. 3. Take a look at "An Unfinished Life" by Robert Dallek, the best recent bio of JFK. 4. Be advised that while Kennedy's father Joe obviously supplied a lot of financial help to his career, no one can force anyone to vote for someone they don't like.
rocsalt Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - To say that Kennedy was not so bad but Reagen was awful, is telling of what political party you support. They basiclly were both great men who had great ideas. The difference is that Reagen took office in the middle of a mess and left a better country. Kennedy took the office and never got to finish. His ideas were great though.
serfdomthwart Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - @carpetasrock JFK was in reality a mediocre president at best. He accomplished little domestically and proved ineffective at properly handling foreign policy issues. JFK became the good president you hear about only after his death. After his assassination, over 70% of the American people claimed to have voted for him in the 1960 election; when in reality far fewer did. One ought not enlarge him in death beyond what he was in life.
serfdomthwart Says:
Nov 19, 2009 - For those wanting to see the rest of this first debate or any part of the other three, all are available in their entirety at the CSPAN website video library.

wc470 Says:
Oct 15, 2009 - if you ask me this is where the media bias began with kennedy although i dont believe it was his faul the media just on its own betrayed the people by favoring whomever they feel like right now
