Jul 5, 2009 - A lot of lead guitar from this era had a similar sound. Primitive. Louie Louie solo too. Always thought Hang On Sloopy had the best solo of this type from that era. Later found out it's Rick Derringer in the McCoy's, so it makes sense.

Jul 8, 2009 - I sure haven't heard any young groups like this today. Drake Levin was 16 yrs. old when he joined this group. They were hit makers for many age groups not just teenagers. Aug 8, 2009 - Well, I have to say that as a 56 year old musician, I was heavily influenced with PRTR. Though I played drums and liked Smitty a lot, as a 12 year old living in a small town in AL, I would wait until I was home alone and turn up my RCA record player up to full volume, and pretend I was Drake playing that iconic lead ride to "Just Like Me" and dance with an imaginary Phil Volk. I think even his family will be amazed at the number of lives he touched of people he never knew. RIP buddy.

Sep 29, 2009 - This one of my favorite bands when I was a kid. They were all over T.V, shows like Where the Actioin is Hulaballoo, Hollywood Palace etc. They put out a bunch of hits. Once you got past the uniforms you found they could really rock and with Mark Lindsay's vocals they couldn't go wrong! Thanks for posting!
