Oct 24, 2009 - A slew-foot is serious because alot of times, especially if its done in open ice, a player can smack the back of his head on the ice. They're just dirty and show an intent to injure instead of a clean hit. Not the worst slew foot i've seen, but a slew foot nontheless

Oct 28, 2009 - Whether or not Niskanen's head hit the ice is irregardless --- what matters is the action of the offending player. Clearly, this meets every definition of a slew foot. It should have been called a major 5 min penalty in the game. However, the suspension length was fine.
