Aug 5, 2009 - if you watch the movie its based on alena, you'll understand. look up the short film gowanus, brooklyn. its about a inner city girl who finds out her teacher is a drug addict. shes really curious as to how this affects him. the girl in the movie, dre, is in both this and the sundance version. the difference is that this one has a bigger plot while the other leaves you to answer endings for yourself. i recommend watching either : )

Oct 23, 2009 - This is one of my favorite films of all time. Moving, heartbreaking, beautiful. When I saw the cover, I thought it would be another movie about the nice white teacher teaching a bunch of inner city black kids and helping them achieve their dreams... I was wrong. SO amazing. Love.
