Sep 26, 2009 - where's the heavy snow? All I see is the wind blowing the snow around.
dirtrider1570 Says:
Sep 28, 2009 - I want to move up there. I live down in the south, so we don't see that kind of snow.
las000005 Says:
Oct 7, 2009 - That looks like more than just lake effect snow. Looks to be a lot of synoptic snow as well looking at your radar.

mygirl22ward Says:
Oct 17, 2009 - I agree, like they never saw snow before. They should go to the UP if they want snow, I hear they measure it in feet, not inches......YIKES!
JackieMagenta Says:
Oct 17, 2009 - Well, it's a good thing the UP measures in feet! Lol. If the southern parts of the state (Detroit area in particular), get so little as 8 or 9 inches, it pretty much cripples transportation for the day.
XXChicagoGuy Says:
Oct 18, 2009 - Woahhhhhhhhhh. Yeah when I grew up in the Detroit suburbs, all it took was maybe 7" and school would be closed and we would be stuck inside all day. It's the same thing here in Chicago. But, I remember my best friend in Grand Rapids would get well over a foot, and they would STILL have school. Nuts....
captainmorgan757 Says:
Oct 19, 2009 - I hate this guy...
andrewbyers2008 Says:
Oct 24, 2009 - ya Reed thats why I want to get out of Mich too lol.
Petrasa Says:
Oct 26, 2009 - Ask your dad how high the snow drifts were and that will confirm how much snow actually fell. If the snow drifts were 4' high, then it's a good estimate that at least 12" of snow fell. If the snow drifts were upwards to 6-8' high, then it is safe to say that 36-48" of snow fell. Think about it.
BMWCubsMan Says:
Oct 28, 2009 - I live in Grand Rapids...I remember this day...I got stuck on the side of the road. Shortly after a lady slammed into my car...totalling it! That was a crazy storm!
troyanderson13 Says:
Oct 29, 2009 - hahahaHAHAHAHAHA 3" in the past 2 hours??? HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHA COME TO THE U.P. DUMBASS, THATS A NICE DAY UP HERE!
joeybognar Says:
Oct 30, 2009 - lol this guy must be from florida cuz that aint shit for a blizzard
stormtracker05 Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - probably dont remember, i was just giving an estimation on how much snow fell, i know that it was probably at least 3 foot fell, because they used diggers from the rock Query to dig roads, homes, and cars out of feet of snow. He is pretty sure that 3 foot fell with drifts over 6 foot. last big snow on record for the area was dec 1, 2006 with 18" of snow and .75" of ice in 2 days, also the blizzard of 2007 brought over 17 inches of snow with 60 mph wind gusts.
greenarcticcat400 Says:
Oct 31, 2009 - what exactly is a lake effect snow storm
34celticpride Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - all i gutta say is,hope you got 4WD,cuz i live in mass an i know i sure do
guineapigmadness Says:
Nov 7, 2009 - when cold air from a jet stream blows into a moist area over a lake it creates big moist snow flakes that accumulate in huge quantities
PkerTorso Says:
Nov 9, 2009 - I don't know, but I think it's where the pressure just changes in a matter of hours, is what i'm guessing.
racecardriver467 Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - dude, i can see about 400-500 Meters out your drivers side window...thats not a blizzard, thats just blowing snow...... blizzard it like 50 meters in front of you cant see shit.....(not trying to be an ass here....)
caketech Says:
Nov 20, 2009 - @racecardriver467 i agree it's not that crazy. it's just windy. i've seen it snow more in Vancouver BC
XXChicagoGuy Says:
Nov 23, 2009 - I loathe michigan winters... We can get a foot of snow dumped on us with no warning at all. I turn on the tv: "Lake-effect snow warning just issued, expect 8"-12"+, all schools are closed" Oh hey.... not inconvenient at all :(

dawnb26 Says:
Sep 9, 2009 - OOOPPPPS!!! I meant REED! SO sorry I forgot your name!
