Oct 26, 2009 - I have a question: as far as I understood, the TrackIr 5 substitutes, in Arma2, that what you normally would do by using [ALT+Mouse Movement] (so, just head rotation, without changing the aim of the weapon/vehicle). I was wondering if the in game camera rotates by the same degrees you rotate your head or if it is in some sort of way amplified. I'll explain it more clearly: how do I rotate the in-game cam to check if someone's in the car behind me (we're talking about a 140 degrees rotation)? :-)

Oct 26, 2009 - a really helpful tip i have tried is to lower the object detail setting to low. object detail is one of the highest hits to frame rate apparently. i play with a lower object detail and this allows me to increase my resolution. try it

Oct 29, 2009 - Will a low end pc wth low fps in for example ArmA 2 (15-20fps) affect TrackIR 5 useage dramatically? That the expereince is vastly decreased due to low fps? On my comuter I can hardly get more than 20 fps average in ArmA 2, is that too low for an immersive experience with TrackIR 5? I have no TrackIR yet but I would really like to buy the 5, but a new pc will be a very distant dream at the moment. I also play IL2 so thats a field where I have good enough FPS. But for ArmA 2?

Oct 30, 2009 - Just picked up a Track IR 5 to use with Arma2 yesterday. I tested with helicos, jets and foot infantry. TRI5 works just as Dslyecxi describes it in this video. The first bundle he describes at 3:38 (Track Hat) works great (if you have a wireless headset) you just have to wear a cap all the time when playing. The TrackClip Pro would be better if it was wireless though. The TIR5 hardware get hot after 15 to 30 mins of use.

Oct 31, 2009 - i also got an old CRT monitor and i only used duct tape over my TrackIR 4 sensor. Should work with the TrackIR 5 too. cheers

Nov 4, 2009 - This man speaks the truth! Excellent video, beautiful in its own right and absolutely right - TrackIR is absolutely indispensable in Arma 2 Its not even about looking around. I did that using 'Alt' already. For me its really about the freedom. The precise lean, zoom, focus. Doing it with your head allows you to focus and scan SO much better. Today i used the precise lean in binoculars and in trees to look 'through' the alpha channels (see through bits). You wont want to give this up

Nov 4, 2009 - I use Track IR just fine in those situations, but obviously the game is jerky at those frames. Looking around is not 'effortless' with or without Track IR in those situations but its not affected and will work all the same

Nov 5, 2009 - Hey I had mine for about a month. I love it but I have one complaint on it. The cord that runs from the tracker to my headset is anoying but is not a real problem. They need it to be cordless. But thanks to you and your video on this I'm enjoying arma 2 a hell of a lot more.
