I think that they are the most interesting because they are the most psychological ones and you must try to understand why such monsters have been created!

Oct 10, 2009 - Honestly I wouldn't pick this one or the first to be your first game in the series to play. The second game is probably the best one to start with, it's very immersive, the graphics still look good, and it's by FAR the most psychological game in the series. The first one's fine to start with too, but it's probably one of the harder games in the series, and Origins has a lot of new mechanics that are pretty confusing at first.

And, well, the serie all begun by Alessa, the KEY person of the WHOLE serie (nearly). And well, the origins is 7 years before the very first silent hill. So i think, by order , i'd rather begin by these 2 opus After that, it's my opinion, but what do you think about that way?

Oct 11, 2009 - Sure, I mean they're all great games, nothing wrong with starting with the first one (that's what I did) though I still say that Origins is enough of a black sheep in the series that it would benefit you not to play it first.

Oct 22, 2009 - I think the only think I liked about the 4th one was the hand axe and shovel. If there was one that I would recommend keeping, it would be SH3 which I think is probably the one of the scariest well made games in the series for PS2. Believe me, it will mess with you.
