Nov 15, 2009 - So true. I like the sound of Al's guitar but Paco is obviously the most experienced but john's sound wasn't right either. The performance was sorta off but none the less amazing. All 3 of my favorite guitar players playing one of my favorite pieces.

Nov 16, 2009 - This is a great performance, I just don't understand why John'd guitar can' be heard, or at least heard as much as Paco's or Al's. And why Al is using a steel stringed guitar instead of a nylon string like Paco and John. But that's just my opinion.

Nov 17, 2009 - thats just not true. too many people hold paco above the other two but john has done equally amazing things with his career. his work with the Mahavishnu Orchestra and Shakti, in my opinion, merits him an equal amount of respect from the guitar community, which sadly he doesn't get. i can respect your opinion if you like paco's playing more...but not if you think he's that far above mclaughlin in skill...this is paco's style, i'd like to see him school john in jazz (but it ain't gonna happen)

Nov 18, 2009 - Agree!

Nov 18, 2009 - While all three are among the most gifted guitarists ever, long before Paco was a crossover success he was a living legend in Flamenco. While Al and John are playing with picks, Paco's sound is crisper as each note is picked separately because he is using his fingers as picks.

Nov 18, 2009 - I know Paco De Lucia, I know Al Di Meola, but who's this John? lol! Plus even in the title of the video, two names are all capitalized! LOL!
LinkBulletBill Says:
Nov 18, 2009 - His index finger, his middle finger, his ring finger... And back again and repeat, these three fingers, played fast repetitively, now that's skill! And he's the only person who does that THAT fast...

Nov 20, 2009 - John McLaughlin has been around a very long time. In the 70's he was in the Mahavishnu Orchestra. He has done mostley jazz fusion . He has worked with cick corea, buddy miles , Carlos Santana..In 2003, McLaughlin was ranked 49th in Rolling Stone magazine list of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time"

Saludos....

Nov 15, 2009 - @thyland51 When i went at a guitar store and asked if they had any ovation acoustic guitars (just to try it) they told me that they don't ship any because they are nor "real" acoustic guitars, and they only depend on the electronics, not on the sole acoustic sound. Nevertheless, i would like one, too...
