The study was conducted in the first place so that people could understand themselves and each other in a more intelligent way. Nov 18, 2009 - I have studied Sigmund Freud for years and i can say for sure he was a serious resercher of human sexuality; many people accused him of being a pervert but those accusations were ridicolous. Since i've never studied anything about Kinsey, do u think it's the same for him? Apparently there's a lot of controversy concerning his work, especially for the bias used and his apparent involvement with pedophiles (wikipedia tells he decided to not report 9 of them to authorities).

Right or wrong, to them, it was the research which was the most important thing. There was friction within the group when it came to taking the sexual histories of pedophiles - understandably so. They interviewed thousands of people about all aspects of their sexualities. The study was about obtaining an accurate representation of sexuality among our species.

Nov 19, 2009 - Continued from "The Kinsey group....." I have read both Kinsey books on sexuality of the male and female. I have also read a few biographies about Kinsey, himself. I would have to say that he and his colleagues were very seriously committed to their work and it's findings. This was not a frivolous endeavor by any means. They received and continue to receive so much flak because some people can't reconcile the IDEAL with the REALITY.
