Aug 3, 2009 - I dont understand it..... I am from florida and you better believe the only siren i use is that beautiful chrome Fed-Q on my bumper..... one of the other central florida departments have them on a couple of there rescues!!! so the transport guys still feel like firefighters!

FireFreak197 Says:

Aug 8, 2009 - Its a firetruck, not an ambulanc. There needs to be Q siren

wwwrescue911de Says:

Aug 9, 2009 - maybe your are blind: it actually has a Q!

FireFreak197 Says:

Aug 9, 2009 - It has a Q i see that, but aparently they dont know how to use it. If u dont use Q when ur deiving a firetruck than just go drive an ambulance.

bnsf4 Says:

Aug 17, 2009 - dude that first engine... my town has that same one but the upper cab is black! and what the hell thats a 2009 pierce and it doesn't even have an EQ2B or not even using it's Q!

bluesntwosEIRE Says:

Aug 27, 2009 - It has a Q 0:12 on the drivers side, a shame they dont use it

FederalQsiren Says:

Aug 28, 2009 - why pay 1000 $ to get a Q, and have it collect dust on the bumper? Wind it up folks?

samisfine2 Says:

Sep 18, 2009 - i dont want to sound disrespectfull, but i can tell you guys dont work for a fire dept. i do. You gotta have a reason to activate the Q, like goin through an intersection or traffic. In this case it was goin down a clear road. STOP giving them shit cause they dont use a Q. Thats so childish how you guys bitch about a siren it gets me so mad. Let the firefighters do their shit without any crap.

FireFreak197 Says:

Sep 21, 2009 - I never said they werent doin therejob...All i said was why arent they using a Q?? My Department uses Q siren in any type of large apparatuss like an Engnie, Ladder, Rescue or Squirt...even our traffic truck witch is Ford F-250 Super Duty has a Q on it.

samisfine2 Says:

Sep 24, 2009 - BECAUSE THEY DONT NEED IT. bro your like the 5 year old kids who come up to us to hear the q at the station. ONLY use Q wheny you need to. This is a serious job and doesnt need any childish wishes to hear a damn siren

FireFreak197 Says:

Sep 26, 2009 - Why dont they need it?? And apparetnly you have alot of time on your hands to really write alot in these comments, my god talk about having a life. Yeah all the departments in my area including mine USE A Q SIREN...NOT A WHIMPY WAIL OR CODE 3...thats a siern u use for more attention ontop of the Q, not just the wail.

FireFreak197 Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - Mhm...sure...say all u want...aint gonna change ma point of view dude

Tr2u1ck Says:

Sep 28, 2009 - samisfine2, one reason to sound everything-- electric, q, anything.. kansas city fd's Pumper 10, was involved in a fatal accident.. victim's relatives are accusing them of not using the sirens and lights. make all the noise you can so that others can hear and see the truck. thats just my input, argue at will.

samisfine2 Says:

Sep 30, 2009 - bro i understand what you mean. but what i mean is that you dont need all those sirens when theres light traffic, no side roads nothing.. Also we dont know if he used to Q when he was bout to get to that red light.

Tr2u1ck Says:

Oct 1, 2009 - i see your point. my FD uses the Q heavy at busy intersections in daylight since obviously there's more traffic, but not that much at let's say at 3 in the morning when next to nobody is on the road. pretty much common sense on when to sound it and when not to.. 3PM at major intersection- lots o noise 3AM in neighborhood - nothing but lights

samisfine2 Says:

Oct 1, 2009 - exactly bro. Why turn on ur sirens when theres nobody around? only people with common sense like you can know the answer

chakie14 Says:

Oct 12, 2009 - Q is awesome. I have to say that. There is nothing better than hearing a Q and is about twice as loud as electronic sirens.

chakie14 Says:

Oct 12, 2009 - agreed

MettaFireRescue Says:

Oct 16, 2009 - For what it's worth: my FD specifically states that a siren MUST BE USED whenever emergency/warning lights are activated. It is a suspendable infringement not to use a siren when emergency/warning lights are activated. I'm sorry if someone gets woken-up at 3am, but I'll be sorrier if one of my apparatus are involved in an MVA. STAY SAFE!

samisfine2 Says:

Oct 21, 2009 - i understand that. but what i mean is when nobdy is on the road when he was going down it. also he turns on the siren when he reaches the light. we dont know if u he used the q or not

Tr2u1ck Says:

Oct 22, 2009 - guess is that it varies with every FD or whoever rides shotgun.. plus, the officer knows (or should know) their district, and knows when to hammer sirens/horns and where to let up on both.

garf1eld029 Says:

Oct 28, 2009 - Yeah, and that "rule" is like toppings on a pizza. There are about 500 different choices, and no two places have the same choices. Every state has its own "law" about going code 3, and when you "should" turn your sirens on. For what it's worth: these guys do a damn good job, and save people. So, turning their sirens on a few seconds late isn't going to hurt anything. They could be doing other things far worse then this.

mrs021509 Says:

Oct 29, 2009 - nice (: im taking EMT right now...than fire academy.YAY mee.

federalco101 Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - my uncle is the ex division chief ive been on all the ladders and engines and all the chiefs cars and trucks im taking emt so when i get older its easier for me to apply for fort lauderdale

federalco101 Says:

Nov 8, 2009 - he doesnt have to he only has to if he crosses a intersection or road becoue the wale siren does basicly all the work
