Nov 22, 2009 - Definitely done right! When the trumpets came in, and then the fly-by, it got even better!

Nov 23, 2009 - They did it right. No urban yodeling or vocal gymnastics. I hate urban yodeling

ScubaSteve1974 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - lilarose 1941, I like totally agree with you. I dunno why we have to sing that song because it's, like, glorifying killing and some junk and war is bad. OMG! Why can't people just get together at a coffee shop sip a few organic lattes and talk about the arts instead of killing each other? It's like Jennifer Aniston always says "War is murder and bad." Pretty deep stuff. Did you see what she wore to the Emmy's last year? OMG! It was, like, to die for!

sailon4me Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Oh my yes! Maybe we could have met with the British troops for tea instead! Then you morons wouldn't be singing either! Had any history lessons lately? Might be a good toime to go back and review.

MerleDKI Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - It's nice to here it done the right way. I think that it would be a honor for a singer to be asked to perform the anthem. So when they get on stage and sing like a dog howling at the moon. It takes away from the meaning. To the America the beautiful person. That is a great song to, but this honors the people who have already struggled and died for this country. So taking a minute to remember them before we enjoy a freedom their sacrifice has made possible is appropriate.

MerleDKI Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Sorry hear!

lilarose1941 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I am glad you young'ns (which I think most of you are) are at least thinking about this stuff. Please note the year after my Lilarose name. That is when I was born in San Francisco 12 days after Pearl Harbor to a terrified mother. I have seen too many wars since and not ONE of them needs to be glorified, even WW2. That was not about glory but survival and even WWI and 2 didn't have to happen. Study your history again. I try not to mix military and citizenship, two different things.

Nov 23, 2009 - Wait - I think I saw community organizer Obama in the audience holding his crotch as he does for every American patriotic moment.

Nov 23, 2009 - Lilarose1941 if you can read this in English, thank a soldier. If you can discuss this in public, thank a soldier. If you can sleep safely in your bed at night thank those soldiers that stand ready in the night. E- Company 75th Inf Rangers

Nov 23, 2009 - Awesome Video! This is the way the National Anthem should be sung. Gives me goosebumps every time i listen to it. Just wonderful.

Nov 23, 2009 - Makes me thankful to be an American. Thanks for this beautiful reminder! (and sexy Michael Douglas introducing the choirs was an extra bonus for me!)

lsfvideoviewer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Truly Amazing. Other singers who have been butchering it lately should take a clue from this. Artistic interpretation is great but not on our national anthem. This was awesome!

Nov 23, 2009 - If you can watch this and not be moved by it, may I respectfully suggest that you make arrangements to move yourself. To France. I will even pay for your one-way ticket.

101stAirborneVeteran Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - You know, I jumped into France on 6 June 1944. I saw a lot of things while fighting there. One thing I did not see was a Frenchman.

MerleDKI Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - lilarose Well it's true we could have avoided WW1 and WW2 If we had only just kept ourselves under British rule we could have avoided the Revolution that inspired this song. Then we could be standing to God save the Queen at a soccer game. I am very aware of my history. Maybe u should study foreign policy. The country's that we were involved with at that time were not exactly standing around suggesting that the world except their views.

101stAirborneVeteran Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - It took me two readings, but I got it. Not sure what a ScubaSteve is, but you make a great point.

Nov 23, 2009 - That's a shame. You say that you were there at the time, and yet have, most strangely, never heard of The Free French First Divisin .

Nov 23, 2009 - @101stAirborneVeteran i'll pitch in to pay for their tickets

Nov 23, 2009 - That is bad ass!! Thank you for posting.

101stAirborneVeteran Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Two flaws in that argument. One is that the First Free French Division did not get to France until TWO months after we landed. They were in Italy you idiot. Second, where in my posting did I say I had not heard of them? They fought with US equipment. Probably because they all threw theirs into the Channel at Dunkirk. They were about as effective in combat as a butter knife would be to a butcher.

101stAirborneVeteran Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I don't think we will have too much trouble raising money for that cause.

clstrat939 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I come from a military family. My father was a Navy chaplain for 30 years and retired as a captain. I have never had the honor of serving in our military, but as a dependent I have seen much closer than most the kind of men and women that serve our country. Seeing these young men and women from the different service branches singing our anthem reinforces my pride in the US military and makes me hopeful for our future. Thank you for posting this. It's marvelous. And I'm a Pats fan too!
