Nov 14, 2009 - i hope the capatain drowned PLEASE BE TRUE!!!

Aberforthette Says:

Nov 14, 2009 - If I was running the rescue mission I would have been tempted to just not pick up the crew and captain in their life boat and leave them to float around for a weeks at least.

mrql123 Says:

Nov 14, 2009 - The captain, a.k.a. Big Coward, and his crew are useless and should serve prison time.

georgieporge2 Says:

Nov 14, 2009 - Shocking and sickening to think how can you not help such vunerable people.

cviking4 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - the captain and crew deserve to be shot. They are directly responsible for the passengers on that shift and they bail? They didn't even call for help before they buggered off! I hope they get a huge prison sentence

Steve197201 Says:

Nov 15, 2009 - With those waves, it didn't even make sense for the crew to be in lifeboats. They would have been safer on the ship!

remus1997 Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - The captain never lives normal after that you just dont let 50.000 die when you can help?

Spearmint1000 Says:

Nov 16, 2009 - i hope the freaking captain and crew drowned and died alone in the sea x)

mryellow123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - A fuckin moron goes down with his ship. What use is it going down with a ship? How does that help anyone? You're thinking of the movies .

mryellow123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - wow you get voted down for explaining that "go down with the ship" is a load of garbage.

Presidentofstormhawk Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - my father is a captain of a ship. he left the ship when it was sinking. its not a law. everybody have do to this sometimes

mryellow123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - Yeah any captain that went down with his ship would have to be the biggest moron in the universe..... Why would u suicide yourself just for the honour of a piece of steel.....

jdolaktv Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - a captain's primarily responsibility is to his passengers and their safety. He must, MUST make sure that his passengers get off safely first before him, even if it means losing his life in the process.

mryellow123 Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - That's very different to going down with the ship as a default response like some comments here suggest.

jdolaktv Says:

Nov 17, 2009 - well, the others who said it was a default honor are going by things like movies and such. and yeah, in olden times, it was an honored tradition to go down with the ship. Infact, leading up to the sinking of the Titanic, practically every ship captain has gone down with their ships.

aavauxhall Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - Does anyone know what happened to the Crew and Captain? Were they charged for abandoning the passengers?

moreluck335 Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - I get the feeling this is just a joke you guys.

VillaMan08 Says:

Nov 18, 2009 - No it really happened, when the guys that helped returned to the UK they were invited to the Palace,It was on the news and everything.

dneipert Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - Yes, they were charged with derelictionof duty and convicted.

dneipert Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - The captain doesn't have to go down with the ship. The order of rescue is first women and children, next male passengers, next crewmen, next officers and finally the captain may abandon ship when he has done what is possible to save the others. This is called the Birkenhead Drill after a ship that went down in almost the same place as the Oceanos in the 19th century. All the women and children were saved but most of the men drowned.

07EthanHunt07 Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - haha.. in this case the captain was the first to be rescued by himself... how rude.. hahhaha

jakobpind Says:

Nov 19, 2009 - prince of oceanos
