Nov 19, 2009 - Quite the contrary, part of being a rational atheist is being able to abandon your beliefs when they prove to be inefficient.

Vamavid Says:

Nov 21, 2009 - Agreed.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - Their are alot of things you don't understand. Honestly, Christians will cling to anything.

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - True. I don't understand how nothing can bring about everything. That's something evolutionists cling to.

PowerfulSplicer Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - instead a wizard creates something. ah. where did the wizard come from? P.S. no 'evolutionist' (the term you are looking for is biologist) says anything came from nothing. I think you are referring to the big bang theory, in which case cosmology is the science you are looking for. And i think you will find that they don't make silly claims like this either.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 22, 2009 - Your an idiot. If you would stop making straw men maybe you would understand things. No one has ever said nothing brought about everything. They said everything was compressed into a small (huge from your perspective) point and when the pressure got too much exploded outwards. Your god theory however does claim nothing brought about everything. Where did god come from? How can he make anything out of nothing?

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Thanks for the personal insult. Nice work. I was quoting the likes of Dawkins and Dan Barker with the "everything out of nothing" theory. " They said everything was compressed into a small (huge from your perspective) point and when the pressure got too much exploded outwards." And you think I believe in fairy tales?!!

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Heh, deluded Christian fool.

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Psalm 53 v 1.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I havn't read the bible, but you christians are just so god damn predictable that I know what that particular verse says, something along the lines of people persecuting christians right? Tell that to all the people you killed in the crusades. Even if your god was real, He would be a sadistic sack of shit.

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Regarding the verse? Wrong. Your reaction was quite predictable though. Crusades? Have you been reading the God Delusion? P.s. Chill out mate. You're beginning to sound a little hysterical.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Forgive me if I get worked up when people actually believe dangerous fairy tales that lead to a lot of human suffering.

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - It shows you have very little knowledge of Christianity. But I wouldn't expect anything different as you freely acknowledge you haven't even opened the Bible. As a Christian, I would put human suffering mainly, but not completely, down to human depravity. You mention the crusades and perhaps that is the only valid black spot. But in context, it pales into insignificance when you think of the likes of Hitler, Stalin and Mao.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - What about "witch" burnings then? All the wars in gods name? The countless people bullied and killed just for not believing? Yeah. Without religion the earth would be far far far better off. No "all loving" god would send one of his creations to a place to suffer for all eternity. Hitler was a Roman catholic by the way.

dutwan Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Trouble is when christians get backed into a wall with questions they start providing verses from the bible. You see when christians provide verses we atheist/anti-theist see it as a small section of a book and not evidence. The basis of christian arguements is god did it. Christian: God did it! Atheist: Can you prove this? Christian: Its all in the bible so it must be true.

dutwan Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - I am God, prove me wrong? I have a peice of paper that says I am god and few of my friends have signed that. That in a nutshell is religion. God created a rainbow to show he would never kill the human race again, so before Noah light never refracted through water?

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - You mean the Salem witch trials? How many died in that one?

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Dutwan, creation declares His existence and your conscience screams it. Anyway chaps...over and out as this is taking too much of my working day up. Regards.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - My consciousness screams nothing of the sort, it screams things like religion is utterly nonsensical and people that practice it must be idiots.

dutwan Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - My conscience doesnt scream his existence, his creation doesnt declare his existence. I am god, prove that everythin in existence isnt my creation.

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - How many died in the Salem witch trials? I need to get to the bottom of this atrocity.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Google is your friend, I can tell you the bible claims god killed 2.8 million people, while the devil killed none, or 8, depending on who you ask.

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Come on...you made the claim about the Salem witch trials as your headline atrocity. How many died? P.s. If you are going to multi post...be careful which account you use.

DragonRomer Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Perhaps YOU need to be careful who you reply to. You replied to me when you meant to reply to him. I only have one account. I am also not a replacement for google. Nor did I mention anything about salem.

Cookey77 Says:

Nov 23, 2009 - Apologies. So which "witch burnings" were you referring to?
