Just like you are shown something you've never seen before and don't know what it is, the computer needs to map synapses for everything in order to recall them. In order to map synapse, someone has to be laying in that machine. I wouldn't be worried about big brother just yet. to have a comprehensive catalog of just objects, it will be a while.
