Nov 5, 2009 - Susan Boyle is overrated although she is a good singer. She wouldn't have gotten that much attention and applause if she was average or good looking. Her appearance shouldn't be a factor in your judgment of her singing abilities. Why is everyone SO shocked at how good of a singer she is... don't you guys know there are a LOT of good (better) singers out there?

Nov 5, 2009 - Susan's appeal is not only in her talent, but her heart and soul; a warm person who was unemployed, was volunteering at her church, and with no agenda, no ego, and no frills, she was given her chance to shine. We are accustomed to the plastic, cookie-cutter Barbie/Ken products that look pretty, but sound mediocre. Susan has the genuine capacity to draw people to her which is more than all these other "stars" out there can say, let alone have the talent to match Susan's.

Nov 5, 2009 - Exactly my point. All the positive qualities of her that you made are related to her looks and background, not her singing. If people like her simply because of that, then what's the difference between people getting mesmerized merely at "stars" with great looks but mediocre singing. I mean, this is a TALENT show. Appearance and background are not talents; she came out to SING but people don't care about her singing because they're blinded by other useless and irrelevant factors.
